7. COURSE DESCRIPTION : This course will introduce the basic concepts of economics and methods in microeconomics and
macroeconomics which include methodology of economics, supply and demand analysis, modeling the
behavior of households and firms, types of markets, the role of the government, and the performance of the
economy as a whole. Likewise, it introduces the international economics.

7. Educational Tour (If Applicable)

CLASS POLICIES:
• The students are strictly advised to follow calendar of activities in order to meet the desired output of the subject. The students who failed to
comply/follow the calendar of activities must be graded In – Progress (IP).
• Students should observed wearing of appropriate dress code during classes, may it be in an online class or face-to-face.
• Requirements (Learning Activities, Module, Homeworks, etc.) can be submitted through online platforms (email, messenger group chat, Google
classroom or LMS) or at the drop box available at the university 1st gate, whichever is more convenient for the student.
• Students should maintain academic integrity i.e., cheating and plagiarism are strictly not allowed.
• Students are encouraged to participate in class discussion by using English as the medium of communication.
• Classroom etiquette must be observed at all times in an online setting or face-to-face.
• In case of face-to-face class meeting, the following must be observed;
o Tardiness and absenteeism is discouraged. However, students who came late are still welcome to class but should enter the classroom
silently to avoid class interruption.
o Observed seat plan conscientiously. Maintain the orderliness and arrangement of the whole classroom before and after the class.
o Student should stay silent unless it is the time for the student to talk/discuss/share something to the class.
o When asking questions, student need to raise his/her hand to be recognized. Students should avoid asking irrelevant and intimidating
questions.
o The attendance policy is reflected in the College Code that the student is required to attend 88% of his/her attendance from a 54 hours
attendance in a class or subject and 12% or 6.48% or 7 of his/her absences shall be noted by the faculty and advised the student whether the
absences is excused or unexcused and whether it is intermittent or recalcitrant on the part of the student and a warning will be given to the
student advise to be dropped from the subject enrolled in that semester.
o Presence in every meeting (regular and remedial) is counted as 1 point in the attendance.
o Refer to the Student Handbook 2013 edition page 13 – 21 for other academic related guidelines and procedures.
• In case of an online class meeting, the following must be observed;
o The schedule of online class may not be necessarily same with the actual schedule of the course. It will be a pre-agreed or pre-arranged
time and day of the majority if not all students. This may be done more or less twice a month.

o During the online class, students are encouraged to be isolated in a place free of noise and clutter to maximize participation and maintain
focus to the lecture given.
o If a meeting application like Zoom or Google Meet will be used, students are encouraged to mute their microphone and turn it on if they are
recognized to speak. Videos may be turned on for a more participative discussion.
o Students are encouraged to be courteous and polite always especially in asking questions and other concerns.
o The online class will not exceed to the number of hours given to a course per week.
o If students cannot attend online classes, he/she will be given alternative ways of coping with the lessons discussed.
o If there are concerns, students are encouraged to ask assistance to their subject Instructor or Academic Adviser.
o Students are encouraged to have fun while learning this course.
