A) Construction of Pile
Step-I Drilling a bore hole into the ground for mentioned (in the drawing) diameter and
depth.
Step-II Placing the steel leg inside the borehole.
Step-III Concreting the bore hole and providing collar/pedestal of mentioned height.
Step-IV Curing of concrete to be done
B) Testing of Pile

1. The test shall be carried out for failure load or following displacement, whichever is
achieved earlier.
1.1) For Pull Out Test: 12mm total displacement
1.2) For Lateral Test: 5 mm total displacement
1.3) For Ultimate compression load: 12mm total displacement

2. The loading should be applied in increments of about 20% up to failure Load Test Pile
value.
3. The next increment should be applied after the rate of displacement is nearer to
0·1 mm per 30 minutes ( ie 0.003 mm per minute)
3.1) Each Load & next increment of load application to be at least for 15
minutes.
3.2) Last Increment of Load application to be at least for 30 minutes.
3.3) Load should be applied at 1.355m & 0.15m above ground level on the
respective leg sections as per attached Pile Testing layout.
4. Deflections shall be recorded at minimum of 0.5tons incremental loads for compression &
0.2tons for lateral test or as per vendor’s machine.
5. All instruments calibration report shall be available during Pile testing.
6. Grade of concrete shall be M25 as per IS-456.
7. OPC 43/53 grade of cement to be used for concrete.
8. Support pile to be provided for lateral tests at 1.5m centre to centre distance from the test
pile.
9. Pile testing to be done till final breakage load.
E) Preparation of Report
Report shall be prepared as per criteria given in latest IS:2911 Part IV, along with safe and
ultimate load calculation.
Submit records and report within one week after completing test.
