CHAPTER 1

Project Context

Pandemic gives greater impact to our daily lives. As of today, we prioritized our
safety and security against the enemy that we cannot see nor touch. It gives us many
anxieties and makes us anxious in everything we do. We triple our security and
protection specially when it comes to our health. We are very conscious and strict in
terms of hygiene. Because of pandemic we are limited in doing things that we usually
do. We are now in a new normal in which we are practicing the social distancing and
limited face to face and interactions with other living homo sapiens. We can only live
once, and the enemy is everywhere but we cannot defend ourselves if we become
reckless and careless in our daily living.
The advantage that the pandemic gives us is that, we are now in the DIGITAL
ERA. We are in a world where almost everything can be done using virtual. Because of
this, we become innovative, we gain initiative in creating something new that can help
us live the life we used to. We can now do the things that ensures our safety and
security. We can maintain the lifestyle that we used to even with limitations. Because
of this IT ERA, we can now communicate with safety measures and with convenience
and less hassle. Processing a clearance thru online gives a lot of help to the both
users. It will be an advantage to both the staff and the students because they will have
more time to do other things and tasks while processing their clearance online. It is
safe and convenient and also it is easy to use. Our proposed project, virtual processing
of clearance comes in a very handy way. Specially nowadays, we are facing pandemic
crisis and we are prioritizing securing our individuals health and safety. To the
students it will be less time consuming and less cost because it will be available online
and it can be access thru mobile app and in web. To the staff, it is convenient and it
can unload their tasks because it is easy access and can be done whenever they
wanted it and they can also do or perform other tasks while approving the request of
the student/s.
The goal/s of the researcher/s is to give and ensure the safety of the users. To
unload their loads and give them assurance and living the life without fear of the
transmission of the Covid-19. Living in an IT ERA is stressing if you don’t know how to
fit and follow the trend. Ensuring and prioritizing the safety of the users is the main
goal of this project.
Purpose/Description:
The purpose of this system is to make a safer and convenient environment for
the students and staff of St. Francis Xavier College. Online clearing the clearance can
make the life of the users easier. It is less cost and less time consuming and also
prioritizing the health of the both users.
This system provides free hassle and more convenient access and clearing the
clearance. It’s not just an advantage for the side of the student/s but also to the staff.
Manual clearing of clearance is time consuming, but this system will make it easier
and accessible anytime, it doesn’t consume more data and it is compatible to any
device. It may be an android or pc. Less hassle, more convenient and not time
consuming.

Objectives:

 Organized data base for the data.

 Unloading the loads of the staff and students.
 Safety and secure interactions of the users.
 Less time consuming in processing of clearance
 Convenient
 Accessible in web and mobile.

Definition of Terms
Pandemic - an outbreak of a disease that occurs over a wide geographic area
(such as multiple countries or continents) and typically affects a significant
proportion of the population: a pandemic outbreak of a disease.
Anxieties – Anxiety is a normal reaction to stress and can be beneficial in some
situations. It can alert us to dangers and help us prepare and pay attention.
Anxiety disorders differ from normal feelings of nervousness or anxiousness and
involve excessive fear or anxiety.
Homo sapiens - are the most abundant and widespread species of primate,
characterized by bipedalism and large, complex brains. This has enabled the
development of advanced tools, culture, and language. Humans are highly
social and tend to live in complex social structures composed of many
cooperating and competing groups, from families and kinship networks to
political states. Social interactions between humans have established a wide
variety of values, social norms, and rituals, which bolster human society.
Curiosity and the human desire to understand and influence the environment
and to explain and manipulate phenomena have motivated humanity's
development of science, philosophy, mythology, religion, and other fields of
study.
 Digital Era – The Digital Era is characterized by technology which increases the
speed and breadth of knowledge turnover within the economy and society.
Evolutionary theory, as an explanation of the system we live in, states that
sustainability relies on knowledge turnover. In parts of the system which are
relatively stable, knowledge turnover is low, and new variation, when produced,
is rarely retained. In other, less stable parts of the system, faster knowledge
turnover is advantageous as new knowledge is produced more frequently
allowing for adaptation to the changing surrounding environment. Mixing and
matching rates of knowledge turnover makes for a dynamic but ever-lasting
world. The Digital Era can be seen as the development of an evolutionary
system in which knowledge turnover is not only very high, but also increasingly
out of the control of humans, making it a time in which our lives become more
difficult to manage. 
Clearance - official authorization for something to proceed or take place.

Significance of the Study

The result of this study is significant to the following:
Student- this study is significant to the student/s because they will have
unlimited access in clearing their clearance.
Staff – this study is significant to the staff because it will be convenient
for them to clear and assess the clearance of the student.

Scope and Limitations

The focus of this study is to develop an online clearing clearance so that it can
help to minimize the spread of Covid-19 in our country. The proposed system allows
the both users to secure their health and also perform their duties in their respective
area of responsibility.
