INTRODUCTION

The purpose of this study is to aim the perception of Humss-

12 students about having a booster shot in terms of their beliefs

among SJCS (San Jacinto Catholic school) HUMSS (Humanities

and Social Sciences) students. The methodology used in this

research is qualitative methodology. The qualitative data that will

be gathered will provide information on the student’s perception

about having a booster shot for COVID-19 (Coronavirus diseases

2019), specifically in terms of their beliefs and language

competency. Based on these data, this study also aims to improve

their knowledge about their health and how could they protect

from various diseases. This chapter will also discuss on research

design, population, respondents and data gathering instrument.

RESEARCH DESIGN

In this chapter the research method for constructing a

research study is also known as research design. Research design

will be a guideline to the researcher to collect data and analyze the

information that is collected in the research study. Research

design is a critical thinking of collecting data to make sure that

your research could explain the information step by step in order

to answer the chosen topic and arranged the body of the research.

Survey research design is employed in this study. The

survey research design may use a variety of data collection

methods with the most common being questionnaires and

interviews. The questionnaires may be administered individually or

in a group, and typically include a series of items reflecting the

research aims.

LOCALE OF THE STUDY

This study will be held inside the campus of San Jacinto

Catholic school, this place is selected for knowing the efficiency of

the said study among 12 HUMSS students and for them to feel

comfortable, this study was been implemented on the grade 12

HUMSS students, these study has important information about

COVID -19 Booster and will be effective to lessen the perception of

the students of having a booster shot. This study will help the

researcher to found out how effective it is for the students to

understand the protection brought by the booster shot to our body.

RESPONDENTS OF THE STUDY

The respondents in our study are the grade 12 HUMSS

students of the San Jacinto Catholic School. They are the ones

who have enough knowledge to answer the proposed

questionnaires. They answered the questionnaire that we gave

them which supplies the information we need to accomplish this

study.

The San Jacinto Catholic School Inc. has a total of 332

population of HUMSS students that are the main subject in this

study. In this 322 HUMSS students only the ones who pick face to

face classes will be the one to answer the questions we prepared

since they are interacting with one another.

DATA GATHERING INSTRUMENT

The study used survey questionnaire as the data gathering

instrument. The instrument is chosen since it is inexpensive and

easy to administer. and also, assures confidentiality for the

respondents and minimize biases. The questionnaire is composed

of 15 question that will collect information from the respondents to

measure their perception and the questionnaire will also ask

descriptions about the respondent’s personal information such as

sex, strand, age, and economic status.
