The gist of this article is all about, how teachers develop an effective classroom management. Terada
(2019) point 3 things that the teacher needs to do to develop an effective classroom management. First,
STARTING ON A POSITIVE NOTE. It is making a positive relationship between the teacher and the
student. The goal of this step is to ensure that all of the students feel a sense of belonging that is
characterized by trust, connection, and understanding. Terada, point out some step to develop a good
relationship between teacher and student. 1). Always talk to the student, if possible, make it a one-on-one. 2).
Encourage the student in all the activities. Teacher must supportive and always listen and motivate the
student. 3). Welcoming of the student inside the classroom. Student should feel that they are welcome. And
lastly 4). Use positive communication techniques. A question that is open-ended, reflective listening,
validation questions, expressions of interest, and compliments help students to develop positive personality.
Second, MAINTAINING RELATIONSHIPS. If the teacher develops a good relationship, he/she must
maintain until at the end of the class. Terada gives some advice on maintaining good relationship of teacher
and student. 1). Take note of positive and negative interactions with students. 2). Regularly check in with
students. Ask how they’re doing and what support they may need. 3). Acknowledge good behavior. When
teachers focus attention on positive conduct, disruptive behavior is stemmed before it becomes an issue.
Lastly, to develop an effective classroom management teacher must REPAIRING HARM BEFORE
THINGS GET WORSE. We all know that negative personality attracts no one, that why as a teacher we
must cut the negativity and put positivity. Terada has 5 steps on repairing harm in the relationship between
teacher and student. 1). Let go and start fresh. 2). Take responsibility for theiractions. 3). Show empathy. 4).
Focus on solutions, not problems. 5). Separate the deed from the doer.

The article of Nagler, (2015) talks about the effectiveness of classroom management and positive
teaching. She said that classroom management is intended to provide students with more opportunities to
learn. The teachers must use the maximum potential of the student to develop their behavior and skills. She
defined Classroom management as the role of a teacher to; first, organize the classroom setup, meaning
decorating the classroom and maintaining the cleanliness of it. Second managing the student’s behavior and
pushes them to enhance their skills. And lastly, the lesson that the teacher must delivered to the class. Nagler
mention that an effective classroom management can change the behavior of the student. she said that
“learning involves changes in behavior”,” behavior changes as the result of its consequences” and “behavior
is influenced by classroom context. In classroom management, teacher must be a model to his/her students.
Teachers must show proper manner to imitate their students. She also said that teachers must know the
classroom expectation. Student and teacher must have a clear expectation of vision on how the classroom
was going to be, it they both know what would be expected they are acting it and fulfill the role. The teacher
must set a class rules to have an organize classroom setup.

In effecting learning, Teacher must give motivation to his/her student to uplift and eliminate those
negative behavior of the student. Teacher must give feedback and praise the student. Nagler said that,
increasing feedback during lessons could help in keeping pupils on track, minimize misunderstanding and
signal areas in need of further explanation. Next teacher must memorable in teaching and learning. It is a
way to attract and keep students' interest for them to focus and learn more in the discussion. Effective
teaching has a learning goal. Learning goals are very important because the type of goals that teachers set
influences the amount of motivation that students have to reach them. Goals should be moderately difficult,
specific, and likely to be reached in the near future to enhance motivation and persistence (Nagler, 2015).
Lastly, to have an effective and positive teaching, the teacher must practice active learning. According to
Nagler, (2015) active learning is a dynamic educational environment that affords students the opportunity to
practice every concept that they are learning. Effective teachers utilize instructional strategies that engage
students repeatedly throughout the entire lesson.
VI. Weekly Journals
In week 1: I learned on how the school environment affects the students on their learning. I observed and
examine the environment on my old school and use it as reference to answer all the activity that is related to
the school environment.
In week 2: it is focus on the student’s characters, needs and interest. As the activity goes, I learned that, as a
teacher I need to catch the interest of my students to have an active and participating class.
In week 3: we watch a video for the different indigenous schools in the Philippines. I learned that, we need
to preserved our culture also, we need to teach the advancement of our generation. We need to balance the
culture and the present generation
In week 4: I learned that the students have a different personality because of their diversity. When I answered
the activities in book, I interview a student and I conclude that we need to check the background of the student
first before we conduct a teaching strategy.
In week 5: as a teacher we need to create an appropriate learning environment for the learners. We need to
manage the students that have different behavior by using a teaching strategy and develop positive learning
environment
In week 6: We watch a movie that depict the classroom routines and management, and because on that I
realize that I need to manage the class in a positive way and develop a classroom routine that foster the
learning of the students.
In week 7: It focuses on the physical and personal aspect of the classroom management. It talks about the
things that the teacher needs to do in managing the whole class.
In week 8: the lesson is all about the school Curriculum. In this lesson we identify the different types of
curricula that is using in different school. We identified also where the different types of curriculums are
found.
In week 9: we have a reporting in different teaching and learning process. we learned the difference between
the inductive and deductive method of teaching.
In week 10: we identify the application for some guiding principle that is used in teaching strategies. I
remember on this topic that I need to have a learning process that is active process.
In week 11: It focusses on the use of ICT in the modern curriculum, we have a reporting on this week and
understand the different ICT tools that can use in learning process.
In week 12: we answer and have a discussion about assessment for leaning, assessment as learning and
assessment of learning. We have a recitation on the different topic and understand it clearly.
In week 13. We tackle all the remaining learning episode and answer it, the teacher as a person and
professional, developing a Glocal teacher of the 21st Century and the last lesson is the teachers Philosophy
in education

For me, the best learning
environment that I had
experience is in my present
school which is the College
of Divine Wisdom. I am
enrolled at the public- school
form grade 1 up to grade 12. I
experience a class that is not
well ventilated and we are
crowded but here in CDW, it
has a beautiful chair, tiles
classroom, air-condition, not
crowded and a hazard free
school. I really love the
environment of the class also
my classmates, school mates
and professors are very
friendly.
I experience, since I study
 know the background of the
students. The diversity of
learners is the cultural, ethical,
nationality, and linguistically
background of the learners. It
is one of the factors why
learners have different
behavior or attitude, and
speaking skills just like
dictions, pronunciation.
Curriculum and Planning Curriculum is a yearly guide for
the teacher. It has a different

Teacher must be a curricuralist

step in creating a curriculum and
in learning process.
Assessment and reporting Assessment is a process of
examining the student’s

diversity. I have a classmate
that cannot wear anything
except palda, the teacher
specifically P.E teacher
respect that and allow her to
wear palda instead of jogging
pants. I have encountered a

pronounce the word right

diction, he lives in Visayas. I

student that always wear a
hijab and the teachers
accept it.
The school has a curriculum

College of Divine all of our
subject follows a certain
curriculum. For example in
our Field study 1. Our
professor use a curriculum to
guide her on what lesson
must she discussed and what
activity must she gives to us.
She follows a curriculum that

the lesson, also the
curriculum has a specific

student. It is important that
teachers can do an assessment
for his/ her learners. There are 3
kinds of assessment, assessment
for learning which is formative,
assessment as learning which is
self-assessment and assessment
of learning which is summative.
Reporting it can be an activity
that teacher gives to the student,
also reporting can be classified
as feedback. Since we can use
report specifically class report to
discuss the student’s
performance. The teacher can
make a class report to be
submitted to the admin of the
school and also for the parents
of the students.
It talks about the relationship
of the stakeholders of the
schools. Teachers and other
stakeholder must have a strong
bond relationship, why?
because if they are supporting
each other the learners can learn
more and have a positive
environment. We need to build
a school environment that are
responsive to community. We
need the engagement of parents.
We need a wider school
community to strengthens the
education.
Lastly, we need to build a
professional ethics School

procedures that can benefit
the all stakeholders.
Change is constant. As a
teacher we need a change, a
need to make a report about

read. When the reporting is
ongoing the teacher react on

When the periodical test

I remember when I was in
my elementary. There is a
foundation day. The students
need to bring his/her family
in the school. The parents are
interacting with their
sons/daughter and also, they
are communicating to the
teachers, principal and
admins of the school. Also,
when I was in Highschool
there is a parent-teacher
conference that talks about
the project of the school and
the performance of the
students. teacher and parents
are interacting also they build
a relationship and help the
teacher to push the student at
his potential.
When I become a
Licensed Professional
positive changing of our self.
We need to grow our personal
life, skills, and love for our
profession. We need to be a role
model for our student, so as a
teacher we need to enhance our
personality to imitate and use as
inspiration by the students.
Teacher is a profession not a
job! Teachers need to love this
profession because we are the
front-liner in shaping,
developing and enhancing the
future people. We need to have
Professional Development, we
need to develop our profession,
love this profession and embrace
the truth, that teachers are the
key on the success of futures
generation.

problem, I don’t bring it to
school and I don’t let my

teacher I will not neglect the

VII. My Philosophy as a Teacher

As a future teacher, I strongly believed that we need to produce a, well-educated, technological

literate, environmentalist and patriot student in the near future. When I studying the professional subjects in
education and seeing the present students, I conclude that we need the students that poses those character to
have a better word. Our world is rapidly changing, our educational systems go by. The generation adapt
those changes and as a teacher I need to adapt these changes but I need to develop it. The generation is not
the problem, the problem is that some of the teachers did not want to change the educational system. They
did not accept the changes that is happing now. As a future teacher I believe that we need to go with the flow
of changes. Since we have knowledge, why we don’t enhance it, and develop the changes in education. We
need to use some strategies some ways on how we convert these changes that is happening no into something
interesting. For an example, this generation is widely using technology, so we need to use technology in
education. We need a teaching strategy to achieve those characters that I mentioned.
To develop a well-educated, we need to have first, knowing the skill, talent, and intelligences that the
student has. Students has their own intelligence but the some of the teachers insisted the traditional
knowledge that they have. I believed the we need a subject that is focus on enhancing the student’s skills. We
need to put a subject, that student that is good in arts, will have 2 hours on developing his skill. We need to
put it on the curriculum. Then discuss clearly the lesson do not finish the lesson if the students not good in a
certain topic. Also, we need to organize the curriculum and start it form Kinder up to grade 12. We must put
a concrete skill that the kinder to grade 2 are need to learn. When grade 4-6 student must have a competent
skill in reading, writing in all subjects. I strongly believe that a kinder up to grade 6 students can adapt the
teaching because their mind is fresh and not full of information. Then from grade 7-10, they need to be
competent in the track that they want to choose on senior high school. Then from grade 11 up to college, the
masteries on their chosen field. This is my suggestion to create a well-educated student.
To have a technological literate student, teacher must integrate technology in teaching. The teacher
must use technology and teaching the student on how is the proper use of that technology. Now a days, even
a child can use technology. If the teacher from kinder will teach the proper use of technology, the student can
learn it, because their mind can absorb the learning. Since I have a feeling that in the near future the
technology will advance so out curriculum must advance also. We need to have an ICT subjects in
elementary and taught it as a minor subject which means that from grade 1 up to grade 8 the ICT subject will
be taught and lesson will be easy to difficult. We need to literate the student by the use of ICT and we can do
that if the ICT is become a minor subject.
We need to produce a student that has care for our surrounding. We need to teach to love and take
care of our mother earth. We need to have a subject that is related on taking care of our nature. This will be
taught in kinder up to Grade 10. We need to produce an environmentalist to lessen the pollution and restore
our planet. Lastly, lets encourage our students to be patriot, to love our country and always look back on our
nationality. We need to put a subject that taught on how to be nationalist, so that the students from grade 1-8
will cherish our culture and our country.
