obstruction of any other activity.
1.2 Arrange scaffolding of sufficient height which is checked by scaffolding 2 - Laborer
4 hrs
inspector/safety officer before using the same for installation. 1 - Safety Officer
1.3 Mark reference points on wall/column as per the Architectural drawings 1 - Laborer 4 hrs
1.4 Identify the circuit start point and end points to mark the conduit route as per
approved drawings (mark-up with chalk or any marking materials if 1 - Laborer 4 hrs
necessary).

2 - Laborer 32 hrs
necessary.
1.6 Join the lengths using the joints and fittings. 2 - Laborer 8 hrs
1.7 After installation, it should be checked by the Engineer or QAQC Officer for
1 - QAQC Officer 4 hrs
the quality of installation.

2.0 Cable Pulling

2.1
2 - Laborer 8 hrs
Layout the UTP Cable from device (Door devices) to the Access Control Panel.
2.2 Cable Pulling should be as per the standard of the Cables to be used (Panduit,
LS, etc.)

3.0 Cable Testing

3.1 Installed cable should be tested using Fluke Tester (end-to-end) for the
connectivity and performance. This will assure that there is no broken line or 2 - Skilled Worker 8 hrs
disconnection upon activation of the device

4.0 Device Termination and Installation

4.1 Installation of Card/Biometrics Reader
4.1.1 Exact location of the Card Reader shall be as per approved Access Control
System Layout.
4.1.2 The height of the Card Reader shall be as per the typical mounting height
1.2m bottom line of card reader from finish floor level.
4.1.3 Remove the mounting plate from the Card Reader and fix into concealed back
box using screw proper hardware.
4.1.4 Pull out the UTP Cable from the back box through the card reader mounting 1 - Skilled Worker 20 hrs
plate hole.
4.1.5 For Termination, strip the cable with wire stripper then twist the cable and
screw it into the card reader terminal strip as per typical wiring detail
diagram.
4.1.6 Push back all the excess cables into the concealed back box and fix the card
reader in the mounting plate.

4.2 Installation of Door Contacts

4.2.1 Door contacts have different types and installation. But generally, the cabled
part for the door contact will be installed on the door frame and the moving
part of the door contact on the door shutter.
1 - Skilled Worker 9 hrs
4.2.2 For Termination, strip the cable with wire stripper then twist the cable and
screw it into the door contact as per typical wiring detail diagram.
4.2.3 Fixed and tighten the door contacts using appropriate screw devices.

4.3 Installation of Electromagnetic Lock

4.3.1 Drill the Armature Plate/Strike Plate Holes on the door.
4.3.2 Attach the Armature Plate or Strike Plate to the door.
4.3.3 With the door closed, mark the door frame at the edge of the armature in
order tto properly align the ellectromagnet to the armature.
4.3.4 Attached the mounting plate to the door frame using the screws provided.
Align the mounting plate with the mark from the previous instruction. 1 - Skilled Worker 28 hrs

4.3.5 Insert the wires through the hole in the mounting plate and into the
electromagnet unit.
4.3.6 Connect the power wires according to the manual of the device and test the
system.

4.4 Installation of Emergency Break Glass

4.4.1 Mount the Back side of the Emergency Breakglass in the designated area
based on the Access Control Layout
4.4.2
Pull out the UTP Cable from the utility box to the emergency Breakglass and 1 - Skilled Worker 11 hrs
terminate with the corresponding terminals in the Emergency Breakglass
4.4.3 Mount the front part of the Breakglass and lock using the proper screw
devices.

4.5 Installation of the Access Control Panel

4.5.1 Mark the exact location of the Access Control Panel and Power supply in the
designated location based on the approved Access Control Layout.

4.5.2 Install the appropriate enclosures for the power supplies and Panels. Fixed
and secure tightly using the appropriate screws.
4.5.3 Fix the power supplies and modules inside the enclosures. Ensure vall screws
fastened and installed perfectly. 2 - Skilled Workers 16 hrs
4.5.4 Bring all cables from conduit/trunking into the Access Control Panel enclosure
and take them out for proper labeling.
4.5.5 For termination, strip the cable with the wire stripper then twist the cable and
screw into the Acces Control Terminal strip as per wiring detail diagram.

4.5.6 Take the 12V DC output from the power supplies and connect to each
corresponding Access Control Panel/Modules.

5.0 Device Testing and Programming

5.1 At this stage all the devices should be terminated already at the correct
terminal strip of the Access Control Module.
5.2 The Access Control System Supplier Programming specialist shall encode and 2 - Access Control
24 hrs
program all rules necessary for the system to lock/unlock. Programming Specialist
5.3 The Door Names should be coordinated and approved with client.
5.4 Testing of the system should be witnessed by the Engineer/QAQC.

Notes:
Actual Manhour needed will still vary based on the actual site conditions and
some are dependent with other architectural works specially for Door devices
