PRE-LESSON: (10 minutes)


1. Pupils activate prior knowledge by working with a partner to discuss 2 questions using “Discuss” in the Unit Opener in Full Blast page 81.
2. A few pairs share their discussion with the class.
LESSON DEVELOPMENT: (40 minutes)
1. Pupils turn to Full Blast page 82 and look at the pictures accompanying the text and state what they show (parkour or freerunning)
2. Pupils look at the 2 signs and state who they think the signs are addressed to.
3. Pupils work in pairs to discuss 2 questions in Section A.
4. A few pairs share their discussion with the class.
5. Pupils move on to Section B and look at the title of the text and guess what the text will be about.
6. Pupils read through the text and identify any unknown words at the same time.
7. Pupils read through the question and the 3 answer choices.
8. Pupils state the writer’s attitude towards parkour and freerunning and justifying their answers with examples. (Main Skill)
9. Pupils discuss answers as a class.
10. Pupils proceed to Section C and read through the statements 1-7 and clarify any unknown words with the teacher.
11. Pupils work in pairs to answer 7 True/False statements. (Main Skill)
12. Pupils discuss answers as a class.
13. Pupils go on to Section E and remain with their partners to discuss 2 questions (what’s your opinion about parkour and freerunning? Do you
think it should be taught in schools? Why/Why not?) and justifying their points of view.(Complementary Skill)
15. A few pairs share their discussion with the class.
POST-LESSON: (10 minutes)
1. Pupils identify with their talk partners at least 3 new words/phrases that they have learned in relation to travelling.
2. A few pairs share their words/phrases with the class.
