TEACHING TIPS & TRICKS APR

16

Hi guys. Upon reading the messages in my telegram group, my

personal telegram, fb messenger and even in my emails, I
realised that most of the teachers are searching for lesson plans,
a complete set of whole year of lesson plans.

Preparing lesson plans (I am talking about the lesson plans for

ENGLISH YEAR 1,2,3 & 4, based on the latest CEFR aligned
curriculum) is very easy. It is all because, we are provided with the
scheme of work (SOW) and all the required details that we need
to include in our lesson plans are already in the SOW.

We can copy and paste the details from the scheme of work to
our lesson plan template. The only things that we need to come
out on our own are the LESSON OBJECTIVES and SUCCESS CRITERIA.

Let me explain the steps to you guys.

STEP 1:

Download the lesson plan template:

https://www.teacherfiera.com/lp-template/

*My templates come with the drop-down menus where you can
just click can choose the details that you want. It will reduce your
time typing in the details.

STEP 2:

Open the Scheme of Work. Copy the details that we need and
paste them in the lesson plan template. Example of details:
LANGUAGE FOCUS, CONTENT STANDARD, LEARNING STANDARD,
THEME, SKILLS, ETC.

The learning outlines have been provided to us. If the learning

outlines are suitable for the needs of our students, we can just
copy the whole thing and paste them in the lesson plan template,
but if we feel the needs to adapt the learning outlines, by all
mean, we can change the outline based on our preferences.

STEP 3 :

Create our own LESSON OBJECTIVES ( 2 objectives , one for main

skill and the other one for the complementary skill).

How to make the LESSON OBJECTIVES? Use the SMART tip. (Specific,
Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, Time Bound).

Then, based on our lesson objectives, create 2 SUCCESS CRITERIA

(one based on the main lesson objective and the other one based
on the complementary lesson objective).

EXAMPLE :

LESSON OBJECTIVE : By the end of the lesson some/most/all pupils

will be able to say three shapes that they see in the classroom to
their partner.

SUCCESS CRITERIA / CAN DO STATEMENT: Pupils can say three

shapes that they see in the classroom to their partner.

STEP 4:

Search for materials based on your lesson plans and choose the
ones suitable to your lessons.. I’ve shared the materials based on
units/modules for year 1,2,3 on my blogspot and year 4 on my new
website (year 4 materials are still in progress, they are not
complete yet). Download them all and save them in your laptop.
They are all for FREE!

That’s it! Easy peasy lemon squeezy isn’t it?

At the beginning you may find it difficult and troublesome, but

believe me, gradually you’ll be able to produce your own lesson
plans and you will understand the flow of your own lessons better!

All the best teachers!

I pray that Allah will ease all of us, in our challenging path as
teachers. Ameen…I.Allah

With love:
