Introduction

Planning and exercising conscious control over the amount of time spent on particular

tasks, especially to boost effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity, is the practice of time

management.

Initially, time management referred to just business or work activities, but eventually, the

term broadened to include personal activities as well. A variety of abilities, resources, and

methods can be utilized to manage time when completing particular tasks, projects, and goals in

accordance with a due date.

The only thing, which can’t be changed by man, is time. One cannot get back time lost or

gone Nothing can be substituted for time. Time management is actually self-management. The

skills that people need to manage others are the same skills that are required to manage

themselves. (A Vences Cyril, 2015)

With this increased workload comes a degree of stress that if not handled and dealt with,

can seriously affect the overall health of a student. At the heart of the stress, managing strategy is

effective time management. Through planning of events to avoid last minute rashes and clashes

in activities, a student can reduce his or her chances of being stressed. (Ivypanda.com, 2019)

It is already evident that having time management is useful in students’ life. The

researchers will study what defines a time management for students and its effects in reducing

stress among students.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

Research Design

A descriptive-quantitative type of research will be used in this study. The researchers

decided to use the Descriptive Design because according to Glass and Hopkins (1984), it

involves the recruitment of data describing an event or situation, organizing, plotting, and

description the data collected. The researchers will present all figures in tabular forms to simply

analyze and explain.

Research Environment

Figure 1. Map of Dr. Ramon de Santos National High School

This study will be conducted at Dr. Ramon de Santos National High School, San

Antonio, Cuyapo, Nueva Ecija, Philippines, with a total population of 2,620 students. It is a

public school that belongs to the Department of Education - Schools Division of Nueva Ecija. It

provides Senior High School for students around Cuyapo, Nueva Ecija with two tracks offered.

The Academic Track with three strands, namely, Science, Technology, Engineering and

Mathematics (STEM), Accountancy, Business and Management (ABM), and Humanities and

Social Sciences (HUMSS). The other track being offered is named as the Technical Vocational

Livelihood (TVL) with four subordinate strands that include; Industrial Arts (IA), Agri-Fishery

Arts (AFA), Information and Communication Technology (ICT), and Home Economics (HE).

Research Respondents

The respondents of this study are selected Grade 11 HUMSS students in Dr. Ramon De

Santos National High School S/Y 2022-2023, conducted in the second semester. Certainly, this

study set limitations in order to meet the exact due date of this research. Grade 11 HUMSS

consists of four (4) sections (Aristotle, Socrates, Heraclitus, Aquinas). In every section, 15

students will be selected with the total of sixty (60) as certain target respondents in order to

gather the data conveniently. In that population, the goals of this study will be successfully

achieved.

Research Instrument

The researchers will use an Online Survey Questionnaire as the main instrument for

gathering data that can be used in the study on checklist method. The researchers used four

markers for answering where each verbal description can be identified. The number four (4) is

strongly agree, number three (3) agree, the number two (2) disagree and number one (1) strongly

disagree. For proper learning results, the instruments to be used in research will be done more

carefully for data and information that will be gathered. In the first part of the questionnaire, the

socio-demographic characteristics of the respondents including their name, age, sex, and the

section of the Grade 11 students of Dr. Ramon de Santos National High School. The second part

contains of how does technology affects students in achieving better academic performance and

what are the strategies of interacting in modern technology in terms of their academic
Dr. Ramon De Santos National High School

performance. Lastly, the third part of the study, the respondents will put a checkmark on the

questionnaires or statements that are given.

Research Sampling

This study will use purposive sampling in selecting the respondents because according to

Kassiani Nikolopoulou (2022), it refers to a group of non-probability sampling techniques in

which units are selected because they have characteristics that you need in your sample. In other

words, units are selected “on purpose” in purposive sampling.

Hence, the participants of this study will be obtained and selected from the students of

grade 12 in Dr. Ramon de Santos National High School who are classified as the ones who

experienced the impact of having religious diversity on their relationships with their co-students.

Data Gathering Procedure

The data gathering procedure of this study will be made up of three stages as illustrated below:

Phase I Phase II Phase III

Preparation and Administration of Analysis and
Examination of the the Research Interpretation of
Survey tool for Instrument Data Collected
Validity and
Effectiveness

Figure 2. Data Gathering Procedure

In Phase I, the researchers will search for a valid questionnaire among the related studies

gathered and then will construct a valid self-made survey form that will be administered by the

respondents of the study, and lastly, the research adviser will check the questions in the

constructed questionnaire that was being utilized after.

Dr. Ramon De Santos National High School
San Antonio, Cuyapo, Nueva Ecija

In Phase II, after examining the questions and finalizing the tool, the self-made online

survey questionnaire will be sent as a link to the respondents of this study, the 50 students of

selected Grade 12 in Dr. Ramon De Santos National High School.

In Phase III, the data gathered will be collected, tailed, and interpreted in the final stage.

The researchers will use frequency count, and percentage on the profile of the respondents, while

weighted mean, standard deviation, and qualitative description will be used along the areas of

constraints, and the ranking in the weakest links on constraints.

Statistical Treatment of Data

Online survey questionnaires and questions will be filled and gathered responses will be

tallied. The data will be treated statistically where ranking and weighted mean will be used. The

data will quantitatively interpret and analyze through the use of the following treatments:

Mean (M) – This will be used to determine the average of responses of the respondents in each

question or statement.

Ranking (R) – This will be used to determine the increasing and decreasing magnitude

variables. The highest frequency will be the rank one, second, third and so on.

Frequency Counts and Percent Values – This will be used to determine the demographic of

the respondents in terms of their age, gender, grade level and strand.

To find out the suitable scoring and interpretation of data yield of the study, the four (4)

scales and their corresponding descriptive interpretation will be used:

Introduction

Full sibling, a first-degree relative having the same biological mother and father. They

share, on average, 50% of their genes with one another. A male sibling is a brother and a female

sibling is a sister.

Sibling relationships are often the longest-lasting relationship in individuals’ lives. Given

the fact that siblings often grow up in the same household, they have a large amount of exposure

to one another, like other members of the immediate family.

Siblings can also be an important role models for each other. Therefore, sisters and

brothers influence each other and have a mutual contribution to one’s individual development

(Buhrmester 1992; Furman and Buhrmester 1985).

Barbaro de (1999) described the sibling relationship as a social laboratory in which

children experience their first peer interaction. Later social experiences may be modeled after the

quality of relationships with sisters and brothers (Namysłowska 2001).

Within sibling relationships also exists complex dynamics that are filled with both intense

warmth and conflict (Stocker et al., 2020).The fact which sibling relationships typically last from

the cradle to the grave does not mean they are unalterable or always positive. On the contrary,

throughout life, sibling relationships are constantly evolving. Their intensity and degree of

intimacy are changing, alongside with the ways in which siblings communicate and resolve

conflict (Namysłowska and Siewierska 2009).

The researchers of this study wants to know the effects of sibling relationships on the

students’ social skill. This can be accomplished by listening to the talks provided here, which

represents the collective views of scholars and educators.

Introduction

Millennials, also known as generation Y is thought to be anyone born from the 1980's to

early 2000's. Someone who has reached adulthood in the 2000's or at least been a child in the

2000's, Yvette Yemshy (2017). Millennials music taste may depend on each person's music taste.

It may be pop, hiphop rap or whatever they frequently listen to. One's music taste may also

depend on trends, the beat, or maybe the lyrics or the meaning of the song. In some cases one's

music taste comes from what they usually or frequently hear. For example, they always hear

songs played by their neighbors, it is repeatedly played day after day. This then will be attached

in their brain, will be familiar to the song and will like it. So in short, in some cases, ones music

taste can be affected by their surrounding or their environment.

Also, according to Lisa Tams (2021), music can have a profound effect on both the

emotions and the body. It can be used as a therapeutic tool to not only reduce stress, but to also

promote healing and improve one’s overall emotional well-being. She also stated that different

type of musix has different type of effect. For example, faster music can make you feel more

alert and concentrate better. Upbeat music can make you feel more optimistic and positive about

life and A slower tempo can quiet your mind and relax your muscles, making you feel soothed

while releasing the stress of the day.

Music can be beneficial to in terms of staying calm and removing stress that is why we

want to conduct this study. We want to know the music preference of the Millennials, how they

use it and how it contribute on their coping mechanism for stress.

The purpose of this study is to determine the effects of music taste among millenials and

also, what are the different contribution may help them in coping up for their stress.
