I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content The Learner demonstrates understanding of key concepts of pairs of
Standards angles
B. Performance The learner is able to formulate and solve accurately authentic
Standards problems involving lines and angles
Derives relationships of geometric figures using measurements and by
inductive reasoning; supplementary angles, complementary angles,
C. Learning congruent angles, vertical angles, adjacent angles. (M7GE-IIIb-1)
Competencies/ At the end of the lesson, the learners should be able to:
Objectives 1. identify different type of pairs of angles; and

JUMBLED LETTER GAME

Jumbled letters:
1. ngsael
2. yra
3. evetrx
4. esedgre
From the jumbled letters given, allow the students to :
1. Identify the word
KEY:
1. angles
2. ray
3. vertex
4. degrees
A. The teacher will let the students define pairs of angles
IV. LESSON PROPER B. Presentation of Lesson Objectives:

The teacher let the students to work on board. She asks the students
to do
Activity 2: Is it an Adjacent angle, Vertical angle, or Linear Pair!

Challenge the students to identify each pair of angles as adjacent,

vertical, and linear pair.

 Activity

Key:
1.) Adjacent
2.) Vertical
3.) Adjacent
4.) Linear pair
5.) Adjacent
Questions for discussion:
1. How do you find the activity?
 Analysis 2. What do you think our topic is all about according to the
activity?

 Abstraction Pairs of Angles

There are some special relationships between "pairs" of angles.
bullet
Adjacent Angles are two angles that share a common vertex, a
common side, and no common interior points. (They share a vertex
and side, but do not overlap.)
∠1 and ∠2 are adjacent angles.

∠ABC and ∠1 are NOT adjacent angles.

(∠ABC overlaps ∠1.)

A Linear Pair is two adjacent angles whose non-common sides form

opposite rays.
∠1 and ∠2 form a linear pair.

The line through points A, B and C is a

straight line.

∠1 and ∠2 are supplementary.

Vertical Angles are two angles whose sides form two pairs of opposite
rays (straight lines).
Vertical angles are located across from
one another in the corners of the "X"
formed by the two straight lines.

∠1 and ∠2 are vertical angles.

∠3 and ∠4 are vertical angles.

Vertical angles are not adjacent.

∠1 and ∠3 are not vertical angles (they are
a linear pair).

Vertical angles are always equal in

measure.

Identify each pair of angles as: complementary, supplementary,

adjacent, vertical, or linear pair.

1.) ∠1 and ∠2
2.) ∠1 and ∠6
3.) ∠1 and ∠5
4.) ∠4 and ∠5
5.) ∠5 and ∠6
 Application Key:

Key:
1.) Adjacent angle
2.) Linear Pair
3.) Vertical angle
4.) Adjacent angle
5.) Linear Pair
Guide Questions:
Based on our Activity, how would you compare :
Generalization 1. Adjacent angles
2. Vertical angles
3. Linear pair
