of workplace deviance

CASE OVERVIEW

Madam Siti is faced with an ethical dilemma, as she must decide whether to report the
unethical behaviour of Natacha and Noman to the top management or to remain silent.
Reporting unethical behaviour would be the right thing to do, as it would help to maintain the
integrity and credibility of the company. On the other hand, if Madam Siti remains silent, she
may be seen as condoning the unethical behaviour, which could have negative consequences
for her and the company in the long run. Ultimately, Madam Siti must weigh the potential
consequences of her decision and act in a manner that aligns with her personal values and
ethical principles.

The purpose is to understand is to give an insight of the office politics and abnormal
behaviour that occur in the organization. Unprofessional behaviour of Natacha and Noman at
ESSB. Siti's challenge in this situation was figuring out how to handle absences and
tardiness. What needs to be done regarding Natacha's abuse of office supplies and Noman's
favouritism of Natacha as a result of their shady relationship.

Siti informed Natacha that coworkers were talking about her frequent absences and personal
use of office equipment. She expressed concerns about the negative impact on the work place
environment and others. Natacha responded by saying she would try to be have better, but
Siti felt that Natacha didn’t seem remorseful, which made Siti Upset.

Siti realized she needed to gather more information before taking action. She decided to
review Natcha’s performance appraisal by Noman to compare it to scores given to other staff

POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS

The office staff respects Siti's judgements since they know she is a reliable and trustworthy individual
who strives to improve the company. She used to provide input to the unit's director. Siti should
gather all the evidence against Natacha and inform Noman about the situation that performance
appraisal is coming and if Natacha will continue to do this, it may impact her growth and also the
company employees may complain against her, making it harder for Noman and Natacha. This is
necessary because the employees are becoming demoralized and demotivated due to the behaviour of
Natacha and Noman.
