I will be entering the Bolton film festival which takes place on
Wednesday 11th October till Sunday 22nd October 2023. This film festival welcomes people of all ages.
Bolton’s international film festival isn’t only a competition but an
opportunity to get your name out into the industry, as well as the opportunity the learn more about the industry though their masterclasses and industry talks. To take part in either the masterclasses or the festival itself I am able to join the online course where I can ask any questions I may have and observe the films that my competitors have submitted.
I will be entering the category called student (undergraduate).
This category allows students to enter productions not longer than 15 minuets of any genre. To enter this competition, I will need o register my student ID to FilmFreeway to prove that I am indeed a student and at the appropriate level of study and location to apply.
The rules applied in this competition is to apply though
FilmFreeway, have an original production, have production be copyright free (or I would be disqualified), have the production applied before the 17th of June latest.
I feel I could win this competition because my idea is original, I
would stand out from the other competitors due to the unique narrative and I would have blend of genres.
Why My Production Should Be Made
I want to produce this production because I want to challenge
myself. I feel that the particular competition I chosen to apply myself to will fuel me to create a winning production. By making this production I also be reaching new aims and developing my skills of editing, planning, research and all of the above. I am excited to be producing this because I haven’t seen or heard of any other narratives that are alike my idea. I am interested in the topic I have chosen so I will enjoy my research and enjoy being challenged in the script part of the development prosses by bringing a comedic element into the production. My approach for the topic of Greek mythology will be very different from the stereotype that is out there because they are known to be legends and I will be portraying them in a childish like mannor.
The Original Idea For My Production Followed A Group of 5 Friends As They Navigate Their Way Through A Volatile and Tremulous Life Set in The Early 1990s
