Detailed Lesson Plan in Technology and Livelihood Education

Grade 6 Industrial Arts

I. Objectives
At the end of the fifty minutes period, the students are expected to:
a. Identify the different parts of the project plan;
b. Appreciate the importance parts of preparing project plan, and
c. Make a sample target design in project plan.

II. Subject Matter

Parts of a Project Plan


1. Target Project Design
-Draw or sketch your project
-How would you finish product look like?
-You may draw the before and after of your planned project.

2. Materials Needed
-List down all the materials that you need including the
cost of each material.
-Materials are the things that you are going to buy to
enhance or to create a new project. In listing materials,
you need to write the following:
a) Quantity- the number of units that you need
b) Unit- determinate quantity of length or value.
Ex. Liter, gallon, box, meter, centimeter, inches, pieces, bottle,
etc.)
c) Price- write the price per piece. Keep the receipt.
d) Total Amount- to get multiply the quantity to the price per
unit.

3. Tools Needed
-Enumerate the tools that you will need in constructing your
product.
-Tools are the equipment or gadget that you are going to use
either assemble, recreate, fix or to apply the enhancing
materials to your project

4. Procedures
-Step by step process in making the project.
1) Choose and get a matured and big sized bamboo.
2) Cut the bamboo from node to node using hand saw or hack
saw. Clean and dry the bamboo under the sun for a few days.
3) Smoothen the bamboo using sand paper.
4) Put some design on it applying any of the methods and
enhancing techniques. (Ex. Pyrography, etching, texturing
etc.)
5) Apply varnish, stain, lacquer, shellac or paint if you wish.
6) Put some decorations and other finishing design
