My name is Ameya Princella, I am from Ghana and I am excited to apply for the
UCW International leadership awards. My educational and career goals have
evolved over time, and I am now focused on pursuing a degree in associate arts at UCW. I believe that this program will be instrumental in helping me achieve my long-term career goals, and I am excited about the opportunities it will offer me. As someone who has always been interested in healthcare, I pursued a diploma in midwifery after completing high school. I was drawn to, midwifery because of my desire to help others and make a difference in people's lives. After completing my midwifery degree and working as a midwife for several years, I realized that I wanted to explore other fields and areas of interest. I have always been passionate about business management, writing and communication, and I believe that pursuing a degree in associate arts will help me explore this passion further. I am excited about the opportunity to study different subjects, including literature, communication, and history, and develop my critical thinking and analytical skills. Although my experience in healthcare has been primarily clinical, I have completed several steps towards achieving my career goals. In Ghana, I have worked in a variety of healthcare settings, including public hospitals, private clinics, and community health centers. Working in healthcare has given me valuable experience in patient care, communication, and problem-solving, all of which will be useful in my future career. Post-graduation, my goal is to use the knowledge and skills I have acquired from the associate arts program at UCW to pursue a career in writing and communication. I plan to use my experience and knowledge of healthcare to contribute to health journalism, writing about issues related to healthcare, policy, and advocacy. I also hope to use my skills to help healthcare organizations and professionals communicate effectively with their patients and the public. In conclusion, I believe that pursuing a degree in associate arts at UCW will help me achieve my long-term career goals in writing and communication. My experience in healthcare has provided me with valuable skills that I can apply to other fields, and I am excited to explore new areas of interest. I am grateful for the opportunity to apply for the UCW entrance awards, scholarships, or grants, and I look forward to contributing to the UCW community.
