I. RATIONALE
SELECTED BARANGAY: BONGBONGAN I, SIBALOM
The Official name of the barrio is Bongbongan I because it is said that not more
than Four Hundred Years ago, there was a man who fell from a waterfall, and the
waterfall rolled the man and turned him upside down the stream. “Guin pa
salibongbong kang tubig ang tawo nga nahulog sa busay.”
Another legend states there was once a poor man living in this barrio that became
rich, his products was prosperous which crammed his granary, people saw this and
said “Na bongbong gd kang paray and ana surudlan.” And this were the reasons
the barrio is named Bongbongan I from the earliest time of the Spanish
occupation up to the present. It was also a propular name is Bongbonga City
during Japanese occupation.
What is Clean Up Drive?
This is to promote waste reduction, recycling, reuse and to create public awareness
and waste management and environment concerns. To improve outdoor
recreational activities of the community. To help reduce the greenhouse gases and
to fight climate change; improving the quality of the natural environment.
Who are affected?
People in the Barangay of Bongbongan I
Why is there a problem?
Most of the people are irresponsible.
What are the main cause of the problem?
The lack of discipline in the waste disposal.

What is the impact of the problem and its future consequences?


The impact of lack of discipline will cause great damage to the barrio and the
health of the people.
What ways can the problem be solved?
This can be solved by proposing proper waste disposal. Explain the proper use of
the MRF, improve the solid waste management to raise awareness of residents in
protecting environment.
What evidences can support the definition of the problem?
You can visibly see the dirty areas of the barangay.

II. OBJECTIVES

To promote waste reduction, recycling and reuse and create public
awareness on waste management and environment concerns.

Residents of barangay, within the barangay, once a month, scheduled
through meeting.

Attainable: Is your goal realistic? It can be actually achieved?

Time –Bound: What is the time frame?


8:00 am – 10:00 am
2nd Saturday of the month

III. BENIFICIARIES
Who will benefit from the project? (Describe them briefly)
All the residents of the Barangay. It is to encourage all of the indigent to indulge
themselves in such activities for recreational purposes and also for the benefit of the
environment while discourage the burning of plastics. Maintaining a clean environment
reduces pollution, preserve our biosphere, protects endangered species, and also helps
preserve the earth natural resources.
