Proposal Title:

"CLEAN BARAS"

Community Project
Proposal Location:

Brgy. Baras Palo, Leyte

Coastal Area (From The Oriental
Hotel to Aloha Red Beach)
With a polluted coastal environment, people have less access
to recreational activities, which has an effect on nearby
businesses. There are considerable negative effects on both
people and other creatures and plants. Numerous species,
particularly marine life, die from eating something and
RATIONALE
suffocating. Others mistake plastic waste for food, and as a
result, most of those animals die of starvation since their
stomachs are occupied by plastic waste. We humans are
affected by this too because the dangerous compounds found
in plastics also have an effect on human health. This
encourages us to assist in the difficulties that our
surroundings have been going through. This activity might
appear insignificant to some, but it has a significant effect on
the ecosystem.
The coastline from The Oriental Leyte to the Aloha Red Beach
is particularly vulnerable to all types of trash and debris from
both natural and man-made causes, such as the trash coming
from the Pacific Ocean. Proper garbage disposal has proved
detrimental to the environment. A coastal cleanup along the
shore of Red Beach Palo and the surrounding area will be
done as part of the project's primary goal.
By doing this, it is intended to improve the environment for
everyone who lives nearby, including the community as well
as the ecosystem. Along with enabling them to live in a better
environment, this will empower residents to participate in
keeping the coastal regions clean and improve their
interpersonal relations skills. This will help reduce the amount
of trash from coastlines, eliminate illnesses brought on by
incorrect waste disposal, and create a better and healthier
workplace for those whose primary means of subsistence or
livelihood are marine resources. That is the proposal's primary
objective.
