Solve to Learn – Worksheet 1 – Graded

(Solve in a A4 Sheet and Submit)

Topic: Ohm’s Law, Kirchhoff’s Laws and Sign Conventions

1. Assume there are 10 light bulbs that can be connected in series and 10 light bulbs that can
be connected in parallel. Each bulb is rated 40 W. If the voltage at the plug is 220 V for
both series and parallel connections, calculate the current through each bulb for both cases.
Also find the voltage across each bulb.

2. Find Vo and the power absorbed by each element in the circuit.

3. Find V1 and V2 using KVL.

4. Find the unknown current in the circuit using KCL.

5. Determine Vo in the circuit.

6. Determine Vx in the circuit.

7. Find the current, voltage and power associated with the 20kohm resistor.

8. Find Vo and the power absorbed by the dependent source.
