Three Areas Of Cornell's Cornell method is composed of three


areas on the notebook page.
Method
Note-taking area- this is the
biggest area for scribbling general
notes such as keywords and ideas,
phrases or ideas repeatedly
mentioned, formulas, diagrams,
pictures, meaningful facts, and
much other important
information.

Cue column-it is the narrow


column on the left side, it is also
reserved for writing main ideas
and key questions, these main
ideas and key questions are
written down right after the
session.

The Summary area-this area is for


writing the summary of the
lecture.

The Cornell method of note-taking is a good way


of taking notes that enables everyone to
memorize, revise, and efficiently take notes on
every important detail. The Cornell method has
three areas the first one is taking notes, which
allows you to jot down every essential detail in
the lecture. The second area is the cue column
which allows you to jot down the main ideas and
key questions. The third one is the summary
area which allows you to write the summary of
the notes. The Cornell method has five r’s these
are recorded, reduce, recite, reflect, and review
these five r’s are important for you to have an
efficient note. There are also other note-taking
methods these are outlining method, the
mapping method, and the box and bullet
method.
