SUMMARY
In this lesson, plagiarism is described as representing someone else’s ideas or the
expression of ideas as one’s own. Failure to credit the author of an invention whether
on purpose or accidentally. There are also six ways to determine plagiarism but the
solution is proper citing. Proper citing is showing some acknowledgment in your
writing for the source of the idea or the data. There is also a format known as APA or
the American Psychological Association Format. The (APA) format of citation is the
common method of citing behavioral and social sciences including education. There
are different types of APA citations there are in-text citations, when the book is not
the first edition, with direct quotes, with two authors, with long quotes, and indenting
any subsequent paragraph, these are the types of in-text citations in APA format.
There are also different types of citing different sources such as books, print journals,
electronic journals, and citing an article in edited books.
