Introduction
This serves as a compilation of a completed Work
Immersion by Jelaica Valdez from ABM 12 ST. THERESE.
The Department of Education instituted Work Immersion as a
completion requirement for graduation wherein students must
undergo actual works based on their specific fields. It serves
as application of knowledge into actual duties. The program
aims to enhance and develop skills, knowledge, and
capabilities of the students.

Since physical classes get back to normal, students did

this immersion by going outdoor and indoor as well, such as
entertaining and guiding the enrollees at the marketing
department. The presenter of this portfolio was tasked to be a
student assistant on the Marketing Department of St. Nicolas
College of Business and Technology that started on the 13th
day of February 2023.

appreciation to the Marketing Assistant of the Marketing
Department to whom she was tasked to work with, and
serves as their guide or instructor for this.

I would like to express my gratitude to all of them for their

persistent advice all throughout our immersion. Appreciate
them for all the guidance, support and assistance. In those
two weeks, I learnt what your duties are, and although we're
only newbies and still have a lot to learn, especially in terms
of career talks, this has inspired me to be more responsible.
This program made me realize to built my own confidence
and go out with my comfort zone and try the things I’m scared

FEBRUARY 14,2023
Our Work Immersion first day, as student assistant we are
tasked to help the Marketing Assistant with their duties like enrolling
students and Assisting them. This first day I observed and pay
attention as they explain what was their duties at the Marketing
Department.

This day, they went out for a career talk with me and my co-
student assistant to help them give pliers.

POST IMMERSION

NARRATIVE REPORT
Since everything get back to normal, immersion was
done face to face and going outdoor. Work immersion is one
method by which we students are given a chance to
experience the real work in the field that we are in and
perform the lessons we learn from school. It Also help us to
obtain applicable knowledge and skills in the actual work
setting. It also provides opportunities to go through the actual
methodologies of a specific job using a real tools,
equipments, and documents.

On the first day of my immersion, I felt so nervous to

commit mistakes because I was a newbie an I also felt afraid
mostly when I was having a conversation or talking to others.
At that moment I realized, I need to prove that I am firm in
any kind of circumstances. First thing, the marketing
assistant at the marketing department oriented us on the
rules and regulations and also the work they will assigned to
us for 2 weeks. They also told us their duties and what is
there work as a marketing assistant.

REFLECTION PAPER

Reflecting back to my first day at my Work Immersion,

after introducing myself to everyone me and my co work
immersions we're tasked to help the MA with their duties they
explain to us what they're duties are and what they doing
inside the marketing department. Since it was my first time i
was bit struggling to understand the task placed on me , but
with the help of the Marketing Assistant and the others who
had a experience working there i felt comfortable as i knew
they would double check me and my fellow student assistant
with the works they will assigned. As we observed there
actions and the way they talk, their attention to their assigned

duties and their patience while they discussed and entertain

the enrollees.

This entire immersion has give insight on the career I’m

now developing and the path I’m going to pursue. This help
me to clearly understand to go out to your comfort zone and
practice publicly speaking. I was able to develop socializing
to others and help me boost my confidence a little bit. Life
begins at the end of your comfort zone.

DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK IMMERSION PROGRAM

With the passage of the Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013

or Republic act 10533, DepEd was tasked to implement the K to 12
Program, essentially adding two (2) years of specialization within the
Basic Educational System;

DepEd designed the implementation of RA 10533 within the

framework of increased community involvement in the learner’s
experience;

With this premise, DepEd offers venues for various

stakeholders to participate in the implementation of RA 10533 and,
the same offer, accepted by the PARTIES herein:

The Work Immersion Program is one of the course

requirements for graduation. A SHS student has to undergo Work
Immersion in a business organization or establishment with work
requirements related to the specialization. Through Work Immersion,
the students are exposed to and are familiarized with the work
environment related to their field of specialization.
