Page 4 of 18NEW PORT PROJECT Ml ALJABER Aljaber Engineering Company Method Statement Mil ENGINEERING INPP/0085: Strategic Food Storage Facilities Safety and Health Officer, + The Safety and Health officer is responsible for monitoring and ensuring that all safety precautions are being followed by the respective engineers, supervisory staff, In addition ensure that the supervisory staff have confirmed checked that all personnel have undergone any necessary induction trainings and that all personnel are equipped with (PPE) Personal Protective Equipment. + The Safety officer shall ensure that all works have undergone the necessary pre commencement STARRT talk provided by the works supervisor. + The Safety officer shall periodically inspect all works ensuring adequate signage and permits are in place. + The Safety officer shall conduct inspections as and where necessary to ensure plant equipment is in full compliance with the projects requirements. Where deemed appropriate issue corrective action notices and or observation reports in line with JEC procedures. First Aider + The First Aider ensures first aid kits are provisioned and are adequately available. + He communicates with Emergency Medical Services when necessary, reassures bystanders, and ensures the wellbeing of work colleagues, undertakes record keeping and recording. Fire Warden + The First Warden takes immediate action as per his training to fight the fire, evacuates the personnel, uses the firefighting system. Rigger +The rigger is a 3rd party certified employee who assists in movement of heavy equipment and by calculating the size and type of sling required for a particular lift, selecting the slings to lift the load, attaching the slings to the load and assisting in controlling the load as it is lifted by a crane. + He also checks and ensures lifting equipment are in good condition each day, loads are being lifted within the lift capacity, barricading of the lifting zones are in place and pedestrians remain out of the lift zone. Banksman + The Vehicle Banksman is the person who is in charge of directing the movements of large vehicles on a work site, particularly large cranes during loading and unloading, Environment Manager + The Environment Manger is responsible to ensure that all environmental arrangements are in place, all personnel have undergone any necessary induction training and that all personnel are trained and complaint with all environmental regulations, legislation, policies and procedures. + He may conduct audits or inspections to ensure said compliance. Environmental Engineer + The Environmental Engineer is responsible for monitoring all activities related to ground improvement to ensure compliance with all environmental regulations and commitments and to lead mitigation and/or response procedures in the event of a non-compliance with permit conditions or an environmental incident (e.g, hydrocarbon spill, chemical release, etc.) + He will conduct inspections to ensure said compliance. 2.2 SUB-CONTRACTOR Project Manager ~ ensure that full range of quality, health, safety are considered across the works. The Sub-Contractor shall ensure that the JEC Health and Safety Management Plan is followed stringently; in addition, Sub-Contractor shall ensure their internal health and safety procedures are followed by all crew members which is prepared to suit. He shall provide signboard at the start and end of ongoing work location. 2. Signboard shall be clearly displayed on approaches to works and shall be positioned so as not to cause hindrance to the movement of vehicular or pedestrian traffic. The signs shall be mounted on sturdy metal frames and shall be illuminated at night. 3. The project signboard shall comply with the standard details as updated by the project drawings and specifications and shall be to the approval of the NPP/PMC. In addition, the Contractor shall obtain all necessary approvals from the relevant author 6.2 SHOP DRAWINGS ‘Shop drawing of project signboard showing its arrangement, assembly procedure, cross section, foundation, ‘embedded anchor bolts, layout plan and elevations will be done and to be submitted to NPP/PMC for their review and approval. | 6.3 MATERIAL DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING 1, Materials delivered on site for project signboard shall be as per Shop Drawing. 2. During fabrication, construction and erection of project signboard, JEC shall protect the materials to avoid possibility of damaged. 3, Storage and handling of materials shall be as per manufacturer's recommendations. 6.4. SETTING OUT AND SURVEY WORKS 1. Prior for commencement of construction of the foundation elements for project signboard, layouts | and location shall be agreed with NPP/PMC. | 2. The location willbe set out by JEC Surveyor as per approved location prior for excavation of foundation elements, 3. Survey readings shall be recorded and submitted to NPP/PMC thru Inspection Request (IR). 6.5 _ EXCAVATION AND FORMATION LEVEL OF THE FOUNDATION ELEMENTS 4. Scanning of existing underground utilities will be carried out prior for excavation. 2. Excavation will begin using any mechanical mean according to the soil type. Excavated materials will be stockpiled in a safe distance away on side of the excavation. The bottom of the excavation will be continuously monitored till the required level is reached. 3. After reaching the formation level, any loose materials shall be removed and compaction will commence. 1. Polyethylene sheet shall be laid prior for pouring of concrete foundation. 2. Casting of the foundation elements will be in-situ and as per approved shop drawings, approved grade and type of concrete of the approved concrete supplier. 3. All embedded anchor bolts shall be aligned and level with adequate support to ensure no any displacement during concreting works. 6.6 CONSTRUCTION OF FOUNDATION ELEMENTS. Fabrication of steel members shall be as per approved shop drawings. 2. Ensure that no banned signboard shall be installed as follows: a. Signs that are in violation of Qatar Highway Design Manual b._ The position of the sign shall respect to traffic safety ©. Defamatory or offensive text, pictures and symbols d. Signs with supports such as bricks, barrels and sandbags 3. Lifting works shall be carried out as per approved Lifting Plan. 4, The base plate will be welded with the main vertical steel members and shall be fixed in embedded anchor bolts in concrete foundations. 5. The “L” angle bracket shall be fixed on the main member for installation of prepared sign board with digital printed banner. At the mean time digital printed banner as per design shall be fixed on the frame with steel plain sheet. 6. The entire frame shall be fixed as per design from top to bottom of project sign board by means of hand tools and self drilling screw. 7. Fixing of web members (bracings and supports) shall be done as per shop drawings. 8. JEC shall maintain, move and adapt the signboard as required during the progress of the works and shall be remove them upon completion.
