Executive Summary
Introduction
Throughout the community, a lot of garbage is thrown away every day. Some of this
waste clogs the canal's waterways if not properly thrown. When the rainy season comes
the rain will result in flooding, because the waterways are clogged with garbage. The
community is not only affected during the rainy season, it is also affected during the dry
season. Some of the garbage is flammable, this is the reason why many houses catch
fire. When we do not dispose of waste properly, it results in disasters. If we conduct a
reducing and recycling program in our community, we can avoid clogging of drains and
houses on fire. This document propose a project to lessen and make use of the waste
that can help the community.
Project Justification
Human society sustains itself by transforming nature into garbage,” said aphorist
and Professor Mason Cooley.
Unsurprisingly, the Philippines generates more solid waste as population increases,
living standards are enhanced, and urban and rural areas are being developed.
According to a report by the Senate Economic Planning Office (SEPO), the country’s
waste generation steadily increased from 37,427.46 tons per day in 2012 to
40,087.45 tons in 2016.

Problem Statement
In our present, it is still difficult to discipline some of the citizens, they still continue to throw garbage in
any place. Waste materials are constantly increasing. Due to the pandemic that occurred, many items
were burned that affect our world's ozone layer. After the pandemic, others forgot to reduce waste and
recycle. Also this generation doesn’t know the value of reducing, reusing and recycling of materials like
bottle, paper and etc. So we conduct a research with 15 residents age of 18 and above of our city. We
ask them if they want to keep recycling on this generation all of them said yes, because all of them
always use a materials that can be recycled every day. They think those things that are not disposed
properly is a biggest waste for our community.
We will conduct this project with the help of barangays and schools. First we will propose our project to
schools and barangay and ask for a month to teach the youth every Friday. If we conduct this project our
place could be in a court or a classroom. The first Friday of the month we will let them know the purpose
and what we will do in the next three Fridays. Second Friday we will teach them what are the materials
that can be reuse and recycled, and also why it is important to our community. Third Friday of we will
teach them how we will make a recycled craft items by making use of their creative mind and make
them bring waste materials on the last Friday. And the last Friday we will give them enough time to do
what they have learned and after they make their recycled crafted items we will give them a reward of
being a creative young generation, and tell them to never stop being creative passed it to the next
generation.
