LESSON

PLAN Subject: Math

Trainee: Fatima Obaid Topic or Theme: patterns & algebra - (patterns are fun)

Class: Grade 1 Date & Duration: 11-11 – 50 min

Trainee Personal Goals

-My goal is Developing my mathematical skills, and providing new teaching technique and skills
that are easy for student to learn math concepts.
- Improve my previous mistake, and work on my grammar.

Lesson Focus

ü Introduces the concept of pattering in easy way to make student learn and understand
the meaning of patterns.

Lesson Outcomes

1PA1: recognize and read patterns in a range of familiar environments.

Bloom’s taxonomy:
Remember: Students use their cognitive thinking to understand the lesson.
Apply: Students realize what they learn and use it their life.

Students may had/have experience in:
- sorting objects by single concept
- copying, extending, describing, and creating a repeating pattern with a group of two
or three elements using a variety of materials and modalities.
- Identifying the pattern structure

materials and the activity.

Differentiation activities (Support)

Low level: Students will be given a caterpillar card; they will pick two or three different colors of
playdough to create pattern over the cards.

Low to medium level: Students will be given different pictures of patterns, they have to read the
pattern then copy it form left to right.

Medium level: students need to copy a pattern and then continue it by adding the next few terms.
Differentiation activities (Stretch)

Medium to a high level: student basically should think of a pattern that has different 3 materials and
create it from left to right and continue the pattern by adding next few.

High level: Students will read the card that describe what shapes should they use then copy the pattern
and then continue it by adding the next few terms.

Reflection (250 words):

Reflection
As a math tutor, I have always needed my students not just
To recognize the mathematical meaning, but also to conduct their calculations and practices.
I've created a lesson plan to help students learn the techniques of
Patterns and have fun encouraging thoughts of logical learning in the area of math.
As far as the grade 1 instructor was concerned, understood the
Concept that students might learn the fundamentals through visual depiction of practices. My teaching
abilities have also strengthened with the
concept of training students with simple mathematics techniques. I have developed an experiment in
which I assemble the students of basic mathematics. They were loving the strategy of
Playing with different material to make a pattern.
And to recognize the idea. By searching for patterns in their environment and being able to
build patterns using various materials.
and I summed it up that Pattern is a repeat row of objects.
I made sure the kids should keep the exercise running for
longer than Ten minutes, because they would not think about it.
makes the pupil appreciate the thought of working together.
My key goal is to remind the class regarding the idea of Pattern,
My method of bringing out a lesson plan.
I found they were familiar with
the Pattering method in this manner.
My approach to teaching resources is often focused on having flash
cards and having various patterns of shapes, colors, fruits, and more.
During the first stage of my lesson plan, I asked the students innovative
questions about Pattern, and I received some feedback that proved that student are understanding the
lesson.
Often, in this whole development of the lesson plan, my main strength is to obtain
the attention of the classroom that is so challenging, particularly in the Grade 1 level.
In fact, I have discovered that I have various kinds of kids in
my class, and that each has a chance to get active in my class.
Few weaknesses caused me to adjust
a few strategies about the class.
