 Short Story – The learners listen to a short story. (The teachers flashes the story picture.)
 The teacher asks questions about the story.

KAARAWAN NI CARLA
Ngayon ay kaarawan ni Carla. Binilhan siya ng cake ng kanyang tatay at
nanay. Kinantahan siya ng “Happy Birthday”. Pagkatapos siyang kantahan ay hinipan
na niya ang mga kandila sa kanyang cake. Sa wakas ay kakain na ang mag-anak.
Masaya nilang pinagsaluhan ang cake. Nagpasalamat si Carla sa kanyang tatay at
nanay.
Comprehension questions:
1. Sino ang nagdiriwang ng kanyang kaarawan?
2. Ano ang regalo sa kanya ng kanyang tatay at nanay?
3. Ano ang sinabi ni Carla sa kanyang tatay at nanay?
4. Sa palagay niyo, ano ang nararamdaman ni Carla? Bakit?
5. Bakit kailangan nating magpasalamat?
C. Presentation
 The teacher shows 3-part picture story – “Kaarawan ni Carla” (not in particular order).
 Ask the learners to arrange the picture cards in sequence: beginning of the story, middle
and the ending.
 Encourage the learners to tell the story in their own.

 Tell the learners that the activity you just did is called “sequencing story”.
Sequencing story – retelling the events of the story in logical order.
 To make sure we get the correct story sequence, we must listen carefully to the
narrator.
 Show more example. Sing the song “Ako ay may Lobo”.

 The class will be divided into 3 groups. Each group will be given 3-part picture story.
 Each group shall arrange the picture story and will be telling story about it.

G. Application
 Active listening is a very important skill used in sequencing story. Every learner is
encourage to practice this skill all the time.
