Determine the symbol and group number of
the elements.
Group 2:Butterfly with Elements and Symbols
Make A butterfly visual aid showing the
symbols of some elements.
Group 3:Crossword Puzzle
Construct a crossword puzzle determining
some elements.
Group 4:Jingle
Create a jingle about elements with symbols
and perform it infront of the class.

Elements with one –letter symbol mostly start
with the first letter of the element’s name.
Only the first letter is capitalized for elements
with two- letter symbol.
Some symbols of elements were taken from
their ancient time.
Each column is called a family and has a
corresponding group number.
Columns are numbered from 1-18 from left to
right.
In your earlier grade levels, you already
encountered some elements.You studied
rocks and learned that some are composed
of silicon and magnesium.Some even have
gold.
When you were recycling materials, you
segregated the objects according to what
these are made of. Some of them are made
from aluminum , copper, tin or carbon.
In nutrition,you were advised to eat enough
Bananas because it is a good source of
potassium.

Evaluation
Games:Connect the flash cards with the
name of elements with their corresponding
chemical symbols and groups.

Assignment:
Name some elements present in the food that Internet
you eat. Give specific examples of food
containing element. Print or write your answer
in a short bond paper.
