Greetings

“Good morning class” -Good morning, Ma’am Clara.

How are you today?

We’re good Ma’am.

That’s nice.

Checking of Attendance

Okay class, Is there any absentees today? . (The class secretary will state the names of absentees)
Checking of Assignments

Pass your assignments! (Everybody submitted)

Anyone from the class can tell me of what we had yesterday? Ma’am we tackle about Comparison and Contrast

What did you do?

We write a paragraph applying all what we learned from
yesterday’s lesson.

Okay very good, and what is comparison and contrast again?

Ma’am, we used comparison in stating the similarities
between two things and contrast states the differences.

Very good.
LESSON PROPER
Activity(motivation)

Look at the pictures and Analyze

What is this picture all about?

I think ma’am the letter “F” symbolizes failure.

Correct, its failure about what?

It is failure about grades ma’am

Okay, what do you think is the cause of failing grades?

The subject is too difficult ma’am

What else?

Alright, and what do you think is the effect? Lack of motivation or poor attitudes ma’am

For me ma’am the effect of being a failure student is the

difficulty in getting an appropriate job opportunity. A
suitable job opportunity comprises an acceptable salary and
work-hours, and good perks and working environment.
Definitely, what else aside from that? Another effect of failure on students’ ma’am is the
psychological effects, they will face. Failure students who
get lower grades in their academic life compared to their
classmates, for me, will have some feeling of inferiority,
and depression.

Analysis

Alright, we are going to have an activity.

Role Play: The students will be divided into four. The students will think of
any topic that will show cause and effect. They have 10 minutes to prepare
and 5 minutes execution.

Criteria Rating

(Group 2 will present)

(Group 3 will present)

(Group 4 will present)

Vey good performance class, you able to identify the cause and effect and
present it well in the class.

Now, how will you define Cause?

When we say cause ma’am it is a reason for an action or

Very good how about effect? condition.

Effect ma’am is the result of a change which is a result or

consequence of an action or other cause.

Abstraction

Very good, now in developing a paragraph we used the pattern cause and
effect to explain why something happens.
It is also states what results a particular event procedure.
It usually gives a statement emphasizing the cause and another emphasizing
the effect.

The following guide questions can be used for cause-effect development:

 Why did it happen?

 What caused it?
 What does it cause?
 What are the effects?
 How is it related to something else?

Further, in developing your texts you can use signal words like
 As a consequence of, as a result of, because of, now that and
Since to express cause while
 Accordingly, consequently, hence, so, therefore, and this resulted in to
signify effects.

How can we use cause and effect in developing a paragraph?

Correct, what else?

Ma’am it will be used in developing a paragraph by
explaining why something happens.

Very good. It usually gives a statement emphasizing the cause and another It is also states what results a particular event procedure.
emphasizing the effect. .

Thank you, class I enjoy our lesson today.
