Universal Design for Learning (UDL):

This lesson helps promote UDL by engaging the students by allowing the students to choose the health topic
that they want to create their stop motion video about. It also supports UDL by representing students
because you could include subtitles in your videos to offer alternatives for auditory information for students
that may be hearing impaired. It also helps promote UDL by supporting planning and strategy development by
allowing the students to create a plan to design how they want their movie to be laid out.

Lesson idea implementation:

Students will complete this project at the end of the semester over any unit/topic that was covered in health
throughout the semester. Students will be assessed on their video by making sure that they covered key
topics and cues that are in the health subject of their choice. The students will be allowed to choose one
partner that they would like to work with to create the movie. They can make the stop motion video however
they would like as long as it includes the key aspects of the health topic they chose and has to be at least one

minute long. The lesson will conclude with the students turning in their movies and be able to present it to
the class. The students will be provided feedback based on the rubric they will be provided with.

Importance of technology: Maker technology tools are useful for HPE students because it gives them a
different opportunity to learn rather than the traditional way they are used to. This is a great way for students
to be creative while they are showing what they have learned. Some other maker technology tools include
tools such as Flip, Adobe Express, Seesaw, and many more. These are also great options for students to use
for an assignment in class that they can create on their own.

Reflective Practice:

Students could share them on a platform like Seesaw where the students can watch each other’s videos and
comment on each other’s recordings. This way students could learn about each other's topics from their
peers. You could also extend this lesson by having each student present their video to the class and talk about
the topic that they made their movie about.
