Leadership Goals:

1. I will develop my leadership skills by mentoring new or prospective teachers.


 Goal: Create professional relationships through mentoring new teachers.
 Rationale: Being a mentor to other teachers strengthens my skills as a leader.

 Objective: In the next two years, I will work with a new teacher and provide
mentoring to them to support their development (short-term goal). In the next ten
years, I will have a student teacher or new teacher observe my teaching and work in

2. I will use standard grading practices in my classroom to access student learning.


 Goal: Provide students with grades that accurately represent student progress.
 Rationale: Standard-based grading provides students with alternative assessments and
show the proficiency but does not penalize students for not meeting the standard yet.

 Objective: In the next two years, I will use standard-based practices in my classroom
including allowing student to make up assignments and retake exams (short-term
goal). In the next ten years, I will work with my school to create a standard-based
grade book to assess student proficiency toward the standard (long-term goal).

student leaning.

3. I will help my school choose and implement a new math or language arts curriculum or
become an expert in the curriculum.
 Goal: Become a master in the subject area of math or language arts that I teach and
how to teach it to my students.
 Rationale: Curriculum is changing and students need to have current curriculum that
is relevant to them and teachers need to know how to teach it to them.

 Objective: In the next two years, I will learn about the current curriculum and become
a master in the subject areas to teach my students (short-term goal). In the next ten
years, I will help my school implement a more updated curriculum and teach other
