With this in mind, international law is typically made from a decentralized basis by the actions of

192 countries or states in the world or rather those that make up an international community. The
Statute of the ICJ, Art. 38 identifies four sources which one can turn to establish them as major
of international law sources. They include;
 Customary International law derived from practicing states
 Treaties between states
 General principles of law recognized by civilized nations; and as subsidiaries for the
determination of rules of international law.
 Judicial decisions and the writings from the most qualified publicists.
