 CHAPTER ONE:
PRODUCT CHOSEN

Our group has chosen to make improvements on furniture product. There are
many furniture products out there that need improvement. Our group has been
discussing to choose a table lamp for our project. A table lamp is a small electric lamp
that is used on the table for the purpose of lighting the table so that the user can do
work, study and read especially at night. We have decided to redesign the product to
develop a better product, making them easier to use, modifying specifications based
on safety factors, using more modern equipment, making them more portable and
most importantly making them more useful to users. Furthermore, we also decided to
modify this product because we think it needs some improvements that can make this
product a multipurpose product and give benefit for users in the future.
 CHAPTER TWO
INTRODUCTION OF PRODUCT

A light source that rests on a table or other piece of furniture is called a table
lamp. Table lamps are the simplest type of lamp in the family of lights. Modern
contemporary table lamps may function as a source of direct or diffused light to
improve the atmosphere setting with the right bulb type, shade, form, and colour.

The flexibility to transfer from one location to another without much difficulty
is something that all table lamps have in common. The fact that your table lamp comes
with a handy wire and plug means that you do not require an electrician. Further
eradicating the need of wires, cables, and plugs is the development of wireless table
lighting. A table lamp's main function is to improve a space's lighting and add to the
interior design. Desk lights and study lamps are used for specialised tasks including
reading, studying, and computer work, although their functionality as task lighting is
more limited.

 To modify and redesign the product to increase practically

Two.2 Significance of the project

The outcomes of this little project will assist students in expanding their
knowledge, particularly in the principles of mechanical engineering design and in
problem-solving techniques. The students will also acquire new knowledge and
abilities for their own future progress. Additionally, by enhancing this equipment,
many people will benefit from a reduction in stress while working. With the advent of
this new design reconstruction, electrical lamps are more productive and provide
better lighting for reading and working. Additionally, little electrical lamps use less
power. The handle may be adjusted, making it easy for the customer.
 CHAPTER THREE
REASON FOR CHOOSING THE SPECIFIED PRODUCT

The reason for the selection of table lamps for our products is because nowadays there
are various types of table lamps with their own purpose, the focus of our project is to focus
lighting to carry out tasks including using the computer, reading, writing and so on. when
compared to existing products on the market, this product may be able to meet consumer
demand by changing its features, properties, and size so that improvements can be made in
response to consumer demand. In addition, there are many improvements that can be used on
this table lamp such as:

1. Using USB Type-C for charging port

2. Modern Indicator Battery
3. Control brightness level
4. Multitasking for stand phone holder

Pugh Chart Pugh chart method is a particularly useful method for identifying
the most promising design concepts among several alternatives generated. Pugh’s
method compares each concept relative to a reference or datum concept and for each
criterion determines whether the concept in question is better than, poorer than, or
about the same as the reference concept.

 CHAPTER FIVE:
MODIFICATIONS

The designs that can be added and the improvement on the product are
important because it makes things better and meets user demands occasionally by
changing their characteristics, nature, and size so that improvements may be made in
response to user demand. The target of modification is to retain current demand, draw
in new customers, guarantee product safety, and effectively compete with rivals.
