entertainers and stand up comedians from Tagum City in the persons of URSULA PAK and LADY
LANGKATERA. During the 2022 Barangay Teachers Day Celebration , in pursuance to Barangay
Ordinance # 32 Series of 2020, with the theme: “Gurong Pilipino, Dangal ng Sambayanang Pilipino”, on
29th day of October 2022 at BSCC Activity Area, Purok Lanzones, Gubatan, Maco, Davao de Oro.

“ACCOLADE FOR TEACHERS’ SPIRITED SERVICE”

On 29th day of October 2022, the Sangguniang Barangay Council through the Committee on Education
Culture & Arts headed by Punong Barangay Arniel T. Fernandez in partnership with the Local
Government Unit of Maco, Provincial Government of Davao de Oro, Office of District II Representative
to the Congress and Sangguniang Kabataan Council organized and conducted the “2022 Barangay
Teachers’ Day Celebration” at Barangay Sports and Cultural Center Activity Area, Purok Lanzones,
Gubatan, Maco, Davao de Oro. That celebration was anchored on the theme of “Gurong Pilipino, Dangal
ng Sambayanang Pilipino and in pursuance to the Barangay Ordinance # 32 Series of 2020 otherwise
known as ““AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THE MONTH OF OCTOBER 2020 AND EVERY
YEAR THEREAFTER AS BARANGAY TEACHER’S DAY CELEBRATION OF BARANGAY
GUBATAN, MACO, DAVAO DE ORO AND PROVIDING FUNDS FOR THIS PURPOSE ” to
recognize the role of teachers for their sincere dedication and commitment for the molding
and education of our youth. The said Barangay Ordinance confirmed and concurred by the
Sangguniang Bayan of Maco last August 11, 2021 through SB Resolution No. 148 Series of
2021 as proposed by SB Member Florante Z. Astillo and co-prosed by former SB member
Evangeline S. Suelto as favorable. The Annual Barangay Teachers’ Day Celebration was
started in 2015 and institutionalized last year through a legislative measure of Sangguniang
Barangay.

That activity was attended by Ms. Leny Rose Baruiz and Ms. Angel Balili representatives of
Congressman Ruwel Peter S. Gonzaga and Governor Dorothy P. Montejo Gonzaga, Mr.
Virgilio Vargas representative of Mayor Arthur Carlos Voltaire R. Rimando and Dr. Alvera
Veronica R. Rimando, MD,FPSMS, RMT and participated by the teachers of Gubatan
Elementary School headed by Mrs. Mary Jane J. Ordeňiza, HT III, Barrio teachers, education
stakeholders, Alternative Learning System Teacher and Child Development Teacher.

The program started with the Grand Entrance of our teachers harmonized with melodies of
song rendered by Mr. Rod Oliveros, Ms. Hanifa Amor Cedenio, Ms. Jessa Caliwan and Mr.
Rogelio M. Legaria, Jr. Honorable Carmen S. Malabago opened the program and gave her
acknowledgements of the teachers who are present, guests, Barangay Officials and
Functionaries. The Young Girls Organization, Parents and Officers of Early Childhood Care
and Development Center, Grade VI pupils, and Barangay Officials and Functionaries
rendered an intermission numbers during the program.
Ms. Angel Balili, representative of Congressman Ruwel Peter S. Gonzaga, Governor Dorothy
P. Montejo-Gonzaga, and Board Member Ruwina S. Gonzaga gave an inspirational message
on their behalf and Governor Dorothy really wanted to attend the Teacher’s Day Celebration
but because of some errands she planned to visit Barangay Gubatan perhaps in the next
activity. Governor Dorothy P. Montejo Gonzaga together with Congressman Ruwel and
Board Member Ruwina Gonzaga sponsored the occasion by providing stand-up comedians in
the persons of URSULA PAK and LADY LANGKATERA from Tagum City, Davao del Norte to
entertain the teachers and constituents as well.

On the other hand, Mayor Arthur Carlos Voltaire R. Rimando extended his felicitations to the
teachers and education stakeholders through his representative in the person of Mr. Virgilio
Vargas, encouraged the parents and constituents in Barangay Gubatan to support the
endeavor of our teachers as facilitator of learning to their children and appreciate the
efforts of Barangay Council to pay homage the untiring service of our educators in the four
corners of classroom and even though we are still facing the pandemic situation. Ms.
Sharamey T. Malabago, Alumnae of Gubatan Elementary School and product of Early
Childhood Care and Development Center in Barangay Gubatan tasked to delivered her
message of attainment , and appreciation of the role of teachers in her life.

Meanwhile, Punong Barangay Arniel T. Fernandez extended his warmest recognitions to all
the teachers in Gubatan Elementary School, Barrio Teachers , Child Development Teacher,
Alternative Learning System Teacher and education stakeholders on grateful recognition of
your commitment ,upright service and significant contributions to the holistic development
for the constituents of Barangay Gubatan and participating the 2022 Barangay Teachers
Day Celebration in pursuance to Barangay Ordinance # 32 Series of 2020, with the theme:
GURONG PILIPINO, DANGAL NG SAMBAYANANG PILIPINO.
