c. explain the functions of circuit breakers, fuses, earthing, double insulation, and other safety
devices in the home;
d. cite the importance of electrical safety

The learners take a three-minute walk around the classroom and look for ways they use on
electricity
Write down all the ways they saw in the meta card
Share students' answers and post on the board
Questions:
How much do you rely on electricity?
How would your classroom be different without it?
Do you use some things more than others?
Which things do you use only in seasonal capacities, like air conditioners or heaters?

Tell students they will be learning about electrical safety. Allow them to share current
understanding, then have groups brainstorm and record questions they have about electrical
safety.
