Chapter III

Methodology
This chapter presents the research design, respondents, instrumentation, data gathering
procedures and data analysis done by the researchers.

Research Design

The goal of the study was to evaluate how well Colegio De Porta Vaga’s Student

Information System worked. As a result, the researchers used descriptive-evaluation research

design to describe the work flow and effects of the implementation of the system. This method

involves collection of data through observation and survey questionnaire.

Respondents

The researchers selected the (list exact number) (#)registrar, (#)teachers, and students

of Colegio De Porta Vaga to be the respondents of the study, computer science students of 1 st

year high school, senior high school, and college students (enrolled for the second semester

of school year 2022-2023). The researches came up with total of 10 student each from the

respective year level as respondents.

The researchers also chose some administration and teachers as the respondents of the

study.

Heterogeneous. Simple random sample (unbiased) / for your choice stratified respondents

Instrumentation

The instruments that will be used to obtain the data for this study will be direct
observation, and survey questionnaires. The researchers prepared survey questionnaire by using

Likert rating scale consisting of close-ended questions type of test. (Pre-survey and post-

survey)

Data Gathering Procedures

To pursue the study's objectives, the following actions were taken: The researchers asked

for approval of (full name), the school dean of Computer Science Studies - Colegio De Porta

Vaga prior to conduct observation and administering survey questionnaires.

1. Observation. The researchers observed the records such as grades, schedules, subjects,

attendance and enrollment management procedures in order to develop with helpful

suggestions for improving the current system.

2. Questionnaires. Pre-survey and post-survey questionnaire sets were prepared by the

researcher and was approved the dean. The pre-survey questionnaire was used to

determined the problems on the existing system, while post-survey questionnaires were

used to determine the effectiveness of the proposed system.
