SUBJECT: WEBINAR ON TRANSFORMING EDUCATION FOR PEACE STUDIES

AND INDIGENOUS PEOPLE IN THE ASEAN CONTEXT

DATE: August 11, 2022

Pursuant to Proclamation No. 282 dated 31 July, August is declared as ASEAN Month in
honor of the regional bloc’s foundation. In commemoration of this year’s 55th ASEAN Founding
Anniversary, the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) shall join the Philippine Higher
Education Sector in building efforts to increase ASEAN awareness.

In view of this, the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Regional Office VII hereby
invites all Teaching, Non-Teaching Personnel and Students to attend the Webinar on
Transforming Education for Peace Studies and Indigenous People in the ASEAN Context
on August 18, 2022, 8:30am to 12:00nn via Zoom Conference and Facebook livestreaming.

The above-mentioned webinar aims to:

1. Provide awareness on the fundamental knowledge, skills and value orientations on

peace studies education and indigenous people;
2. Integrate the key themes of peace studies education and indigenous people in their
teaching-learning process in the new normal; and
3. Develop keen interest and commitment among faculty and students to promote peace
studies education and indigenous people within their institution
