SUBJECT : ANNOUNCEMENT ON THE UPDATED CALENDAR OF ACTIVITIES

FOR THE 1ST NATIONAL HIGHER EDUCATION DAY AND CHED 27 TH
FOUNDING ANNIVERSARY ON 17-21 MAY 2021

DATE : 30 March 2021

Pursuant to the provisions of Republic Act (RA) 11522 declaring May 18 as the “National Higher
Education Day” and per Commission en Banc (CEB) Resolution No. 077-2021 the CHED shall
celebrate the “First National Higher Education Day” and the “CHED 27th Founding Anniversary”
from 17-21 May 2021 with this year’s theme,

Moving Forward by Claiming Victory for Philippine Higher Education

This week-long celebration will highlight academic and non-academic national and regional
activities, on-line conferences, webinars, showcase of talents, bazaar, health and wellness,
among others. Attached is the updated calendar of these activities for your guidance. Kindly note
the national level activities where in all the Regional Offices are enjoined to participate and should
adjust their regional activities accordingly.

The national opening ceremony of the higher education week will be on 17 May 2021, 9:00 am
while the national closing ceremony will be on 21 May 2021 at 3:00 pm wherein all CHED Central
and Regional Offices are required to participate. All CHED Offices are requested to submit and
coordinate with the Program Committee the details of their activities for the entire week to ensure
that said activities are being carried out and executed according to the national theme.
