SETTLEMENT TECHNIQUES

Majority of the people living in the Barangay are Indigenous people who
belongs to the Teduray tribe and they are using some traditional ways to
resolved disputes.

1. WAYEG (COLD WATER). Barangay KIbucay recognizes the traditional

ways of resolving cases, the Lupon Chairperson will put a cup of water
in front invite the spirit of water to intercede so that both parties
especially the complainant will have calmness, because the Tedurays
believed that water give as calmness and everything that intense if we
put water it will slowly turn into coolness just like the problem if we
are willing to fix it, it will be resolved.

2. SAGEFAD (PRAYER). The arraignment will start through a prayer.

The complainant and respondent are advised to got in to the prayer
room to ask guidance of tulos (GOD) to resolved the conflict with
calmness. Before the Lupon Chairman begins to settle the issue he will
ask the both parties if they are willing to fix the problem between
them, if both agreed, the proceedings will continue.
