is conducting online
Kamustahan with the
parents. We give feedback
and recommendations to
the parents regarding
with their child’s
academic status. And to
those who were not able
to attend we are
conducting open
communication for them. We also had home visitation for
the learners who are not active in messenger and in any
means of communication. We are also informing the parents
about their incomplete
outputs through
personal message. We
began conducting
home visits for our
classes to clarify our
relationship to them as
more than a teacher.
We would be their
advocate when they
struggled in their modules, reading, writing and ask them
about their day, every day.

To make home visit manageable, we only visited the

learners who are not able to submit their outputs and have
difficulty answering the
modules. The first time we did
home visit to our learners,
there were a lot of pushbacks
from learners who were not
used to having teachers visit
their home. But the second
time, they were already used
to it.
I saw the power of home visit
after we had done it for

several weeks. After we had talked

and informed the parents about
their child’s academic performance,
we come up with solutions on how it
will be improved. At the end, it was
both agreed by the teacher and the
parent.

And with my own experience I would like to suggests a

few tips to get the most of your home visitation:
1. Make home visits a part of your classroom practice so
that no one feels singled out.
2. Systematize who gets home visits to keep the practice
manageable for you.
3. Be flexible about when you do a
home visit. Let the parent or
guardian the date and time.
4. Thank the family for allowing
you in their home.
