So, the seeds have a three parts the seed
coat, a cotyledon and an embryo. Ma’am, there are three basic parts of a seed.

How important is the seed coat to young plant
life? Yes, Ma’am.
Have you observed that some of our sample
seedlings have two cotyledons? Ma’am it is called seed coat.
These seeds or seedlings are called Dicot.
Ma’am seed coats protect the seed from injuries
Have you observe that some of our sample and prevent it from dying up.
seedlings have one cotyledon. Seedlings with one
cotyledon are called monocot.

 When do you say that it is a monocot or


dicot seeds.

depending the number of cotyledons.

seeds, the Embryo.
The Embryo is also known as the new
plants or an immature (are not fully
developed) plants. It is the baby plants.

The parts of a seeds are:
a. Seed Coat- outer covering of seed.
It protects the seed from injuries and
from drying up.
b. Cotyledon- the off white and the
biggest part of the seed.
-it provides the young plants or the
seed the food it needs for growth.
c. Embryo- young plant / baby plants.

Monocot- seeds with one cotyledon.

Dicot-seeds with two cotyledon.
