LEARNING OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to: 1. identify the differences between present continuous and future tense using will and be going to. SUCCESS CRITERIA Pupils can: 1. write at least 2 characteristics of each tenses. 2. orally give 2 example of sentences for each tenses. CROSS CURRICULAR ELEMENTS Pupils can relate to their knowledge about first aid kit and health issues. LESSON DEVELOPMENT SET INDUCTION (5mins) (FLIP CLASSROOM) **differentiation strategies 1. Pupils watch a video about talk about the type of tenses that they have learnt before.
ACTIVITY 1: GROUP (2 stay-3stray): 30 mins
1. From the Wheel of Fortune, pupils will spin and choose their tenses. 2. In group, pupils will write about the chosen tense, its characteristics, situation and example in a suitable mind map on a mah-jong paper. 3. 2 pupils of each group stay and another 3 pupils will stray and fill in the information that they gather from other groups using the worksheet given to them. 4. Pupils comment and rate other groups’ work and include suggestion for improvement.
ACTIVITY 2: Play-Tag: 20 mins
1. One pupil is going to be elected using Random Picker for each round. 2. The pupil is blindfolded and need to tag a friend and call her name correctly; if the name is correct, the tagged friend needs to give 2 examples of a tense mentioned, if the name is wrong, the blindfolded one need to give the example. 3. As the round finishes, repeat 2.
