woodworking project;

2. Procedure in Making Wooden Tray and


Applying Surface Coating.
1. Prepare all the tools and materials needed:
a. Claw Hammer
b. Philip Screwdriver
c. Sand Paper (#60 Grit and #180 Grit)
d. Paint brush
e. Drop Cloth/used newspaper
f. Wood Board (4pcs. 1x3x14 in. and 2pcs. 1x3x10 in.)
g. Door pull handle (2pcs.)
h. Wood stain
i. Screw
j. nails
2. Put four 12 inches wood board line up together.
3. Get one piece of 10 inches wood board lining up to the edge of the tray, nail
one in the beginning and one at the end of the board, 2 nails each wood
board.
4. Repeat the steps on the other side of the wood board.
5. Put the door pull handle, place them on each side & make a small hole first
for us to easily screw with the use of Philip screwdriver.
6. Start to sand the whole surface with grit #60 - #80 sandpaper and make sure
to sand the narrow edges of the wood.
7. Sand again for grit#120 - #180 to make it smoother.
8. To remove the saw dust, you may use the rug for the remaining saw dust.
9. Set the drop cloth or use newspaper, put the wooden tray above.
10. Apply Oil-Based Sealer/Stain with the use of paint brush & dry it for 15
mins.

3. Teacher’s Video Presentation

Let the students watch the video about making a wood tray and applying
surface coating. Examine the procedure presented in the video.

B. APPLICATION
Group the class into 3 consists of 5 members per group. Students will perform
of how to make a wooden tray and apply surface coating individually. The students
will be graded based on the given rubrics provided by the teacher. Each group will
rate the other groups after they performed the given task. The teacher also will rate the
performance task of each group.
