BALIKTANAW: A DLSU Chorale Homecoming Concert

Alumni Project Guidelines

Project 1: Lead Me Lord


➢ Expected submissions: one audio recording and one video recording singing ‘Lead Me
Lord’ arranged by Mr. Arnel de Pano.

○ Audio - September 16, 2022, Friday, 11:59 PM

Audio Recording
1. Before you start recording, kindly turn off any fans and air-conditioning units to minimize
white noise and other background noise. Keep noises like creaking doors, falling objects,
dog barks to a minimum. Find the best time in your area where there will be less noise.

3. You may record your audio using your cellphone without any earphone mics plugged
into the device.
4. Record yourself singing with the provided pre-recorded vocal guides.
5. Remember that only your voice should be heard in your audio recording.
6. The audio files should be submitted as either wav or mp3 format only.
7. Audio File name: VOICE SECTION_First Name Last Name_AUDIO.mp3/wav (e.g.
TENOR_JuanDelaCruz_AUDIO.mp3/wav).
8. Upload your audio recording in the folder entitled “02 Audio Recordings”:

Make sure to sign in using your google account to add / upload files in the drive.
Video Recording
1. Attire: White colored semi-formal tops (strictly no t-shirts allowed).
2. Place yourself in front of a plain white/beige background, with good lighting.
3. Mount your recording device in landscape (horizontal) position within your eye-level.
4. Make sure that you are in the center of the frame with enough headroom.

5. Record yourself singing with the provided vocal guide track. NOTE: Make sure your voice
and the guide are audible in the video for easier editing and syncing purposes. Audio in
your video recording will be muted eventually.
6. Kindly record your video from beginning until the end of the whole song.
7. Allot a 5 second buffer before singing the first note and after singing the last note.
8. The video file should be 1080p or 720p, mov or mp4 format.
9. Video File name: VOICE SECTION_First Name Last Name_VIDEO.mp4/mov (e.g.
TENOR_JuanDelaCruz_VIDEO.mp4/mov)
10. Upload your video recording in the folder entitled “03 Video Recordings”:

Project 2: Creative Videos


➢ Expected submission: One video recording of you showing your written or drawn
message.
➢ Link to Google drive folder containing a sample video and submission folder:

➢ Deadline: September 16, 2022, Friday, 11:59 PM

We would like to showcase current and former members showing written messages on screen.
1. Attire: Any green or white clothing as long as it is appropriate
2. You may use any background setting.
3. Mount your recording device in landscape (horizontal) position within your eye-level.
4. Make sure that you are in the center of the frame with enough headroom..
5. Make sure that your written message is clear enough to be read. NOTE: No need to
speak or read your message as your video will be muted during the editing process.
6. Please limit your video recording to a minimum of 10 seconds to a maximum of 30
seconds.
7. The video file should be 1080p or 720p, mov or mp4 format.
8. Video File name: Project2_First Name Last Name..mp4/mov (e.g.
Project2_JuanDelaCruz.mp4/mov)
9. Upload your video recording in the folder entitled “Video Submissions”:

● The written message can contain any of the following:


○ A thank you
○ A shoutout (eg. to friend groups or batch number)
○ What you miss about DLSU Chorale
○ What you love about DLSU Chorale
○ A drawing/doodle that portrays your message*
■ You may choose to portray your message with a drawing if you wish to
use a symbol instead.
Project 3: Interview Message Videos
➢ Expected submission: 2-3 video recordings of you answering any of the provided
interview questions.

➢ Deadline: September 16, 2022, Friday, 11:59 PM

We would like to showcase videos of the alumni answering short interview questions which will
be featured in between performances.
1. Attire: Any green or white clothing as long as it is appropriate.
2. You may use any background setting.
3. Mount your recording device in landscape (horizontal) position within your eye-level.
4. Make sure that you are in the center of the frame with enough headroom.
5. Make sure that your voice is heard in the video recording.
6. Please limit your answers to a minimum of 30 seconds to a maximum of 1 minute.
7. The video file should be 1080p or 720p, mov or mp4 format.
8. Video File name: Project3_First Name Last Name_Question Number.mp4/mov (e.g.
Project3_JuanDelaCruz_Question 1.mp4/mov)
9. Upload your video recording in the folder entitled “Video Submissions”:

1. What are you most grateful for during your time in the DLSU Chorale?
2. What was the highlight of your stay in the DLSU Chorale?
3. What were some of the things you learned in Chorale?
4. Who or what gave you guidance throughout your journey in Chorale?
5. Do you still remember what memory in Chorale made you smile? Could you describe the
colors of that memory?
6. What got you through tough times in Chorale? And what did you discover about yourself
in the process ?
7. What were some of the important things you learned about being an artist/chorister?
8. What kind of friendships were you able to form during your stay in the Chorale? What
were your fondest memories with them?
9. What made your friendships in the Chorale different from your other friendships outside
the group?
10. What were some of the happiest moments in Chorale?
11. What was the hardest part about leaving Chorale?
a. What were some of the things you had to let go of?
b. What was the hardest to let go of?/What did you hold most dear about Chorale?
