II. Content Types of Speech Style
1. Review The teacher will ask the students to recall their previous discussion by
sharing what they learned in their class.
2.Motivation 1. The teacher will show some pictures of various people to the class.

3. Abstraction The teacher will discuss the types of speech style.
Intimate
It is a style among intimate members of a family or friends that do
not need a complete language with a clear articulation.
Examples:
-Endearments for lovers and parents.
Casual
It is the most common speech style used among friends and
coworkers. Jargoin, slang, or the vernacular language are used.
Common expressions:
-Hey guys!
-Lemme go
-Wassup, kinda..
Examples:
-Internet chatrooms
-Tweets
-Personal emails
Consultative
This style is the standard one. It is best used for business and
professional relationships.
Examples:
-Teachers and students
-Employers and employees
-Doctor and patient
Formal
This style is used in formal settings. Unlike the consultative style,
this is one-way.
Examples:
-Sermons
-Graduation speeches
Announcements in school
Frozen
It is the most formal speech style that is usually used in formal
contexts such as speech for state ceremonies, court proceedings,
and religious rituals.
Examples:
-Marriage vows
-Judicial sentencing
-Allegiance to the country or flag
-Prayer (The Lord’s Prayer)
The teacher will pose a picture in the slides and let the students

which type of speech style is being presented.
The student will choose the correct conversation and guess the
correct type of speech style.
VI. Assignment
Prepare a five (5) minutes speech that talks about Gender Inequality by
