NARRATIVE REPORT ON PRE-CONFERENCE OF CLASSROOM OBSERVATION

During the pre-observation conference the observer will clarify the purpose of the
lesson, and identify specific goals the teacher is planning to accomplish and the goals the
teacher has identified for the students to accomplish. Specific strategies the teacher will use
are identified and discussed. Lesson plans are examined; the consulting teacher may take this
opportunity to clarify questions, discuss specific issues about the lesson content or
modifications for particular students in the upcoming class, or offer suggestions prior to the
lesson. The teacher can also use the pre-observation conference to ask questions or to discuss
any information that would be pertinent to the observation. As the consulting teacher leaves
the pre-observation conference, the objectives of the lesson and the management and
instructional strategies that are intended to be used to meet these objectives should be clear.

An interview schedule provides a brief, structured way of obtaining such information.

Details such as the date for the classroom observation, use of a particular observation form or
method, and seating arrangement for the colleague observer should also be decided by mutual
agreement at this session.

On March 13,2023 During our pre-conference our School Head

Ma’am Venus Mildred H. Saladaga-Pagalan asked me questions on
what I want to happen in my classroom observation. She also asked
about my objectives of the lesson and suggested that it should be
attainable in one hour. She then added corrections on how will you
connect each part of the lesson to next part by formulating questions
relatively to the topic. Then she said that I should select pictures
locally to be shown in my PowerPoint presentation. Moreover,
during our pre-conference she suggested that I think of learner’s
activities that could be done in a short period of time.

After the pre-conference I have a clear mind to what my
classroom observation should be done on March 17,2023 at
7:40-8:40am as my scheduled date and time.

Thanks to our School Head for her constructive and

informative suggestions for the betterment of my lesson.

We left at school around 7:30 in the morning and headed right away to the location of
our first student to home visit who happened to be Alleah S. Acog a Grade 9 Acacia student.

We went directly to the student’s residence as she just lives nearby the school. We
were able to relay our concerns and to communicate with the mother of the student regarding
her standing in school. Her mother said that she thought that her daughter go to school every
day only to found out that her daughter did not go to school regularly. Her mother also said
that she was busy working at farm.
Then after hearing their side and talked about it then we gave her parent promissory letter to
her mother to write their promise that she will monitor her daughter to go to school at any
cost.
Moving on, we proceeded to our next student who happened to be Julius Daguplo a
Grade 9 student, upon arriving in their residence, the student was hiding around because he
was shy. Despite that, the teachers were able to communicate with the mother of the student
regarding his standing in school and come up with an agreement on how he could catch up
his studies. Julius ‘mother said that she was not able to monitor her son going school because
she went on Cagayan de Oro City, she took care of her aunt. Julius did not able to attend
school after New Year’s break and just took quarterly exam during second grading.

Then after we proceed to John Paul Gerona’s residence after lunch. We talked with
his grandmother and communicate his mother through video call about John Paul’s standing
in school because he wants to go back in his studies but then he was shy. His grandmother
said that they just waited for us to visit their student.

Out of 6 students we visited there are 4 parents/guardians we were able to talk to

because some of the students do not have parents lived with them.
Wrapping the home visitation experiences, the teachers were able to deliver the
concerns and some issues of the students. They were able to hear their sides of why they
seemed to lose interest in studies. They were able to communicate with the parents as they
should work hand in hand for the future of the students and most of all they will be given
time to catch up the activities and lessons for them to learn and hopefully pass the Ninth
grade. After the successful visitation to the mentioned students, the teachers then went back
to school and arrived there at 3:40pm in the afternoon.
