Learning Objectives: At the end of the discussion, the students must be able to:

K: identify the impacts of climate change particularly in the Philippines;


S: describe the causes and effects of climate change;
A: cite ways on how to prevent/minimize the effects of climate change to the environment, and
V: apply the DepEd core value “Makakalikasan” in real life situation as stewards of God’s creations.

Learning Competency: Describe certain climatic phenomena that occurs on a global level.

Topic: IMPACTS OF CLIMATE CHANGE


Reference: Self-learning Module in Science 9 (Schools Division of Negros Oriental) pp. 1-11

PROCEDURE

Preparation: Prayer, Greetings, Checking of Attendance, Classroom Rules, and Review of the
factors affecting climate.

Practice: Present a picture showing climate change and ask their observations about it.
Ask questions of the climate we are experiencing nowadays and how this affect
their daily activities.
Discuss the Impacts of Climate Change: Changes in Rainfall Patterns and
Distribution, Drought, Threats to Biodiversity and Food Security, Sea Level Rise, Public Health Risks,
and Endangerment to Women and Indigenous People, El Niño and La Niña.

Assessment: Conduct a graded oral recitation on what they’ve learned on the topic discussed.
Conduct a 20-item test: Test I (Identification)
Test II (Essay and Enumeration)

Assignment: In a long sized bond paper, draw a poster-slogan showing love and care
towards the environment.
