Step 5: Write a Story in simple past and past progressive.

Last year my friend Melissa was planning her vacations, she was really happy
because she was planning to go with her fiancé, she was planning to have a
great time there, she bought the airplane tickets, did the reservation in a very
nice place and everything was set.

When the big day arrived, everything was a disaster, my friend did not enjoy that
vacation, at the airport there was a 7-hour delay for her flight, also one of her
suitcases was lost during the flight, when she arrived at that place it was chilling, the
hotel room where they were staying was not the one she had chosen, the room was
dark and very humid, she wanted to go to the beach but it was very dirty, she
couldn't explore the area either; it was actually a scary vacation, her fiancé was not
happy. (Mildreth Davila)

However, my friend Melissa tried to cheer him up and he told her that he did not feel
comfortable, but when they saw that they had nowhere to go they went back up to
the room, when they arrived they felt a chilling cold which made them shiver, they
tried to run, but their feet did not move, frightened they yelled Help! but nobody
listened to them, my friend began to cry and her fiancé grabbed her hands and when
they tried to hug each other, the mirror fell, breaking into a thousand pieces.
(Vanessa Sincelejo)
They did not know what to do, they tried to escape, but when they went to open the
door it was stuck, they did not understand what was happening, they were so sorry
they had come to that place, Melissa grabbed her cell phone and began to call
desperately, she almost did not answer, but luckily I heard the phone, I remember
hearing her with such terror in her voice, I almost did not understand, but following
her directions I went to the place with another friend, we asked for them and the
receptionist said that no couple had ever arrived there, we did not understand what
was happening, was she lying to us? (Jennifer Oviedo)

But suddenly something happened, when they were about to leave the hotel, a very
kind family arrived. They were dancing with happiness because it was their first
family vacation, they started talking and Melissa told them what had happened to
them. So, the kind family decided to invite them to spend the vacations together.
They decided to leave that hotel and look for a better one, the family was so excited
that Melissa and her husband got motivated and were singing and dancing with
them. (Raquel)
