FIELD NOTE 1

Time: 7:30 AM to 1:35 PM Date: May 2, 2023

OBSERVATION:
I reached the school sharply at 7.30 AM. Today was my first day and I noticed that
there was no assembly because of corona (Covid-19). The principal introduced me
to the staff and then assigned me to my mentor who is currently working as a SST
(General). My mentor took me to the class and introduced me to the students.
The students were sitting as per SOPs provided by the government (NCOC). The
day’s activities started with the recitation of Holy Quran and educational activities
began afterwards. The room was well lit and nicely decorated. It was also a little
over-crowded as are most of the classes in the government schools. She delivered
his lesson while I actively observed him, and the students. The students were
taking keen interest in the lesson. I took notes of all the activities. Afterwards, I
returned home.

REFLECTION:
Today, I experienced the educational institution as a trainee teacher. I observed
Covid SOPs management and classroom organization.

plan in addition to the procedure for developing one. He also taught me the
importance of a well-designed lesson plan for a teacher. I sat in the last row,
keenly observing the teacher as well as the pupil. It was professionally helpful to
see what I had learnt, to be applied practically. I took notes of today’s activities.

one. He demonstrated how an effective teacher monitors and supervises the
social and extra-curricular activities in addition to the academic performance of
his students. The pupil also took keen interest in Mr. Awais’ lessons because of his
