Subject: Technology Livelihood Education (DRAFTING)


Course & Year: Grade 8 Perseverance

I. OBJECTIVES

At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to do the following with at
least 75% proficiency level.
1. Define Technical Drawing.
2. Differentiate Freehand Drawing and Mechanical Drawing.
3. Identify Drawing Tools and Materials.

II. SUBJECT MATTER

Concept: Technical Drawing


Sub-concept: Drawing Tools and Materials
Materials: Laptop, Projector, Pictures, Visual Aids, Drawing Tools
Methodology: 4A’s (Activity, Analysis, Abstraction, Application)
Value: Appreciate the significance of Art in our lives

III. LEARNING PROCEDURE

A. Preparatory Activity
1. Prayer
2. Checking of attendance
3. Review
4. Motivation
The Teacher will present the two pictures on the board or screen.

Ask: What do you observe in the picture?


How are they differ?
Why did you say so?
B. ACTIVITY

The class will be divided into four (4) groups. Each group will be given
task to be done.
First Group: Discuss about Technical Drafting which includes freehand drawing and
mechanical drawing.
Second Group: Discuss about Drawing tools and materials (Drawing pencil, eraser, T-
square & Triangles)
Third Group: Discuss about Drawing tools and materials (Compass, Divider, Lettering
Pen or Speedball Pen)
Fourth Group: Discuss about Drawing tools and materials (Protractor, French curve,

Erasing shield, Fastener)

C. Analysis

The teacher will now appreciate the group presentation and ask
questions about the activity. Then, the teacher will give an example of it.

D. Abstraction

Ask: Class, what was again our lesson today?


What are the different Drawing tools and equipment?
What is the Role of drawing or art in our lives?

E. Application

The teacher will present the drawing tools and equipment one by one.
Some students will be asked to tell the class the name and function of
the specific tools presented.

F. Evaluation

Instructions: Identify the following word or group of words being


described.
1. It is the act and discipline of composing drawing that visually
communicate how something functions or is constructed. It is also
essential for communicating ideas in industry and engineering.
2. A drawing executed by hand without guiding instrument.
3. A drawing done with aid of instruments.
