What would happen if you were to “like” everything you saw on social media?
The likes, comments and posts we share on social media can often seem inconsequential,
but they matter. They tap into some of the very elements that makes us human, our
addictions, desires, anxieties and joys. Apparently, the freedom to use social media became
the avenue to shame, protest and disrespect others opinion, so if it is against with ours. Do
you think social media is a good platform to address social concerns and phenomenon?

Here, you will meet Filipino social scientist and you will learn what platforms they
used to address social issues.

The Philippine Social Science Council (PSSC) is a private, non-stock, non-profit


organization of professional social science associations and social science research and
instructional institution in the Philippines.

The Philippine Social Science Council is a non-governmental organization which aims to


support social scientists in the Philippines to increase the impact of their work and to
connect with other scholars. It is significant in Philippine affairs as it is directed to solve
issues and concerns in the society.

Social science provides empirical data about what the problems are and encourages people
to propose possible solutions, and you try them, and some of them work.

In the Philippines, there are social scientist in various discipline that helps the society
address issues and phenomenon. Do the activity to meet our local social scientist.

Evolution of Social Science Discipline in the Philippines


A growing awareness of global relationships has become part of the academic disciplines
from which the participants study Philippine issues. These disciplines include
anthropology, history, linguistics, literature, sociology, political science, economics,
geography, environmental sciences, performing arts, communication sciences and others
in the broad field of the humanities and social sciences.

Multi- and interdisciplinary perspectives are becoming increasingly important. This makes
the organization of periodical multidisciplinary conferences even more fruitful and
inspiring.
In the Philippines, researches are encouraged to solve social issues. It has been the focus

minutes. Try to make it as encouraging as possible. Upload and share it to your
Facebook account in private setting or public setting (your choice) and do not forget
to tag me. For those who cannot do this due to Internet or gadget concern, create a
slogan instead. Use the hashtag #MyLittleWayToAdvocateSocialChange
The campaign video will be graded according to:
