Week No. 1 Module N/A Duration 1 HOUR
Objectives must be met over the week and connected to the curriculum standards. To meet the objectives, necessary
I. OBJECTIVES procedure must be followed and if needed, additional lessons, exercises, remedial activities may be done for developing
content knowledge and competencies. These are assessed using Formative Assessment strategies. Valuing objectives
support the learning of content and competencies and enable children to find significance and joy in learning the
lessons. Weekly objectives shall be derived from the curriculum guide.
1. The learner demonstrates understanding of fitness and exercise in optimizing one’s

a career opportunity
B. Performance 1. The learner leads fitness events with proficiency and confidence resulting in
Standards independent pursuit and in influencing others positively.
C. Learning 1. Recognizes the value of optimizing one’s health through participation in physical
Competency/is activity assessments
D. Learning Objectives
1. Differentiate the moderate activities and vigorous activities;
2. Perform some examples of moderate activities and vigorous activities;
3. Shows the value of optimizing health through participation in physical activities.
Content is what the lesson all about. It pertains to the subject matter the teacher aims to
II. CONTENT/TOPIC teach in the CG, the content can be tackled in a week or two.
Optimizing your Health Through Physical Activities
III. LEARNING
List the materials to be used in different days. Varied sources of materials sustain
RESOURCES children’s interest in the lesson and learning. Ensure that there is a mix of concrete and
manipulative materials as well as paper-based materials. Hands-on learning promotes
concept development.

AWARENESS
Guide question:
Process questions:
1. How will you make your concept map related to physical activities?
2. What can you say about the figure 3.1?
3. What can you say about the figure 3.2?
4. What are the differences of both figure?
Process questions:
Process questions
1. What is moderate activity?
2. What is vigorous activity?
3. How will you differentiate the moderate and vigorous activities?
4. What are the possible benefits of moderate and vigorous activities?
5. Moderate and vigorous activities are really important? How will you say so?
Process questions;
strenuously enough to burn off three to six times as much energy per minute as you do when
you are sitting quietly, or exercises that clock in at 3 to 6 METs. While vigorous-intensity
activities burn less than 6 METs. False because vigorous Vigorous intensity activities are
defined as activities ≥ 6 METS. Vigorous activities require the highest amount of oxygen
consumption to complete the activity.
5. True or False? Walking, dancing and even some household chores are considered vigorous
activities? False because walking, dancing and even some household chores are considered
moderate activities it is also sweeping on the floor, slowly dancing.
V. REMARKS
VI. REFLECTION Reflect on your teaching and assess yourself as a teacher. Think about your students’ progress this week. What works? What else needs to be
done to help the
students learn? Identify what help your instructional supervisors can provide for you so when you meet them, you can ask them relevant
question.

Checked:
Physical activity of all kinds can be performed in a variety of intensities, ranging between light,
moderate, and vigorous (high) intensity activity. Understanding the difference between intensity
levels is important to understanding the current Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans.
Light intensity activities require the least amount of effort, compared to moderate and vigorous
activities. The definition for light intensity activity is an activity that is classified as < 3 METS.
One MET, or metabolic equivalent, is the amount of oxygen consumed while sitting at rest.
Thus, an activity classified as 2 METS would be equal to 2 times the amount of oxygen
consumed while sitting at rest (1 MET). METS are a convenient and standard method for
describing absolute intensity of physical activities. Some examples of light physical activities
include: walking slowly (i.e. shopping, walking around the office), sitting at your computer,
making the bed, eating, preparing food, and washing dishes.
Moderate intensity activities are defined as activities ranging between 3 - < 6 METS. These
activities require more oxygen consumption that light activities. Some examples of moderate
physical activities include: sweeping the floor, walking briskly, slow dancing, vacuuming,
washing windows, shooting a basketball.
Vigorous intensity activities are defined as activities ≥ 6 METS. Vigorous activities require the
highest amount of oxygen consumption to complete the activity. Examples of vigorous physical
activities include: running (5 mph >), swimming, shoveling, soccer, jumping rope, carrying
heavy loads (i.e. bricks).
An easy way to estimate intensity of activities is through a method called the “talk test”. This
method is a simple, practical way for individuals to measure their activity intensity. If you are
doing a moderate intensity activity, you can talk, but not sing during the activity. If you are
doing a vigorous intensity activity, you will not be able to say more than a few words without
taking a breath.

B.Directions: Write True if the given statement is correct and False if it is not.
1. True or false? You don’t get health benefits from exercise unless you are exercising vigorously.
2. activities require the highest amount of oxygen consumption to complete the activity.
3. True or False? If you are doing a vigorous intensity activity, you will not be able to say more than a few
4. True or False? Moderate-intensity activities are those that get you moving fast enough or strenuously
enough to burn off three to six times as much energy per minute as you do when you are sitting quietly,
or exercises that clock in at 3 to 6 METs. While vigorous-intensity activities burn less than 6 METs.
5. True or False? Walking, dancing and even some household chores are considered vigorous activities?
