Subject: Mathematics 4
I. Objectives/Competencies:
a) define prime and composite numbers;
b) appreciate the understanding of the lesson through their own ideas; and
c) Give examples for the prime and composite number.
II. Materials Needed:

Activity: Paper and pencil
III. Procedures/Methodology
A. Motivation
The teacher will review the students about the factors.

B. Presentation
a) The teacher will get the rug and roll it in the circle.
b) The teacher will get the tray and material she will use in presenting the lesson about
prime and composite numbers. (Nomenclature)
c) The teacher will first get the nomenclature card (Prime Number) and show it to the
children; then give examples.
d) The teacher will now get the nomenclature card (Composite Number) and show it to the
children; then give examples.
e) The teacher will do the three-period lesson.
Composite Number they are numbers (greater than 1) that are not prime. They are
divisible by 1, by itself and by other numbers.
Example: 6 is a composite number; (3x2) (6x1)
The teacher will let the students categorize the given numbers whether it is prime
or composite number. And if it is composite, they will write all the factors of that number.
D. Transition
Jumping on the Flanel
The student will jump as the teacher tells the number.
E. Exercise
I can write C if the number is COMPOSITE and P if it is PRIME.
